Disclaimer: Although I prefer slender women, I have nothing against "big boned" or chubby women. I also have nothing against gay people. This thread is for discussion purposes only because it piqued my curiosity.

I had a discussion with an SP the other day and the topic of chubby chasers came up. Her theory was that men who like obese women are closet homosexuals that don't want to admit they are gay... having sex with a chubby woman with masculine lines, masculine measurements, masculine facial features, etc. was essentially like f$cking a guy.

In my 25-40 years of life on the planet Earth, I have never heard this theory before. I thought it was quite interesting. I always thought that chubby chasers were usually overweight themselves and wanted somebody that matched... or maybe because of the theory that chubby women give the best blowjobs because of their cheek structure and the way they can just "SUUUUCCCCTIIIONNN" a cock up...

Anybody else heard of the closet homosexual theory? Am I walking on thin ice here? Should I delete this thread?

Hmmm... this is a really interesting counterpoint. I like thin women... I wouldn't quite say "waif-type" though... no offense, but M*gan that used to be on PERB was a waif, and honestly, I thought she could use a lot more meat on her bones... there is a fine line between waif and spinner.... and as for hair, I like long hair... down to the ass like Julia's... or at least to the middle of the back... or at the VERY LEAST shoulder length... anything shorter isn't nearly as feminine...

Big women have big boobs... and bigger boobs are often associated with femininity since men don't have boobs... (unless you're a big guy with manboobs)....Ok I will agree there...

but the other "women parts" as they become bigger lose their femininity... big chin, big butt (more than just junk in the trunk), big thighs, big arms... can that really be considered feminine? As a larger woman myself, I have never ever ever ever been described as masculine in any way shape or form. In fact, I have been told that I am "all woman" on numerous occasions.

For those who have met me, I think they would all say that my face is not manly in any way. I am a girly girl with kissable lips, huge boobies, painted toes, manicured nails, long hair, pretty make up, shapely calves (girly ones), etc.

I do, however, think there may be some validity to the whole theory that some men (perhaps gay men) prefer larger, rounder women because they are more "motherly". Certainly, breast fetish relates back to that.

I guess if you are speaking of a butch looking BBW, then maybe there is some validity.

Just my jumbled thoughts on a Saturday.

"Chubby chasers" like larger women for many different reasons. Just like some men like waifs, spinners, big booties, small tits, large tits, implants, brunettes, blondes, redheads, freckles, long hair, short hair, curly hair, muscular legs, blue eyes, green eyes, etc.

Everyone has different things that "turn them on". Many of these "fetishes" go back to childhood associations, or something seen in porn, or an image in a magazine or a past experience.

I don't think you can put labels on or categorize sexual turn ons, preferences or fetishes. It's way too personal and subjective.

Thankfully, in this world, there are all types and pretty much anyone can find another human being who can turn them on! That's what makes life so fascinating.

I think the SP in question I was talking to was referring to obese women and not just curvy or large women. I am talking women that look like the ones on "the Biggest Loser"... the ones that are clinically obese. I don't find anything feminine about those women at all, except maybe if their face was nicely made up. There is far more evidence that would indicate gays that swing both ways, "closet" gays or less masculine (less testosterone) males would likely prefer boyish, petite, slim-hipped women.

Playboy did a huge study many years ago on this. They surveyed their readership on about eight different womanly body types. The magazine it was in and the follow-up results were done many years ago, so unless you have a complete collection dating from the 60's you won't find it.

As best I recall from the outline illustrations they put in the magazine (they weren't actual models, just a drawing of nude women from the side) the body types I saw were (my best guess from ancient memory):

1) Skinny, boyish type. Probably something like 32, 23, 32
2) Skinny but bigger boobs. 35, 24, 34
3) Little meatier but smaller breasts. 33, 25, 35
4) Medium curvy. 34, 26, 37
5) Quite curvy. 36, 27, 39
6) Very curvy. 37, 28, 40
7) Marginal BBW. 39, 30, 43
8) Almost full BBW. 42, 32, 45

I don't think they had an illustration of an obese woman.

As near as I can recall, the overwhelming choice was #5. #4 & #6 were closely rated after that and the others I can't remember but the surprising thing to me was that the huge boob, skinny one (#2) was much lower rated.

Marilyn Monroe probably was closest to the very curvy model, #6, and you would think that might be the top choice but guys chose #5 even though the tits weren't as big.

In other studies on male reactions to female body types, it would appear that the key is the difference between the hip and waist. Males are hard-wired to look for fitness for reproduction and a woman with the big curve is going to be more likely to bear a large healthy child easier. Yes, I know it doesn't really apply anymore with modern medicine but my lizard brain is not aware of that when I look at a woman's hip/waist ratio.

Of course, there are cultural factors and personal preference at play (for instance, during other centuries, BBW's were the top of the heap because that indicated wealth and health). In our present culture, skinny equates to rich and the gay-dominated fashion industry has convinced women (and men who want status) that skinny is better and sexier. However, our ancient brains can't be denied. I know my medulla oblongata reacts instantly to the big curve and that can be on a 110 pound sweetie or probably up to 180, if it falls in the right places.

It would be interesting to do a similar survey on Perb but it really wouldn't be accurate. Pooners are not necessarily a good cross-section of the male population.
