CFA stands for chartered financial analyst...I believe a majority of CFA's work in investment banking and such, so more useful in larger financial centres such as NYC, Toronto, London, etc. where there are more ibanking jobs. Not so much in a small market such as Vancouver.

I am a lawyer, my Mba is the degree that I used to qualify for entry to Law School.
So you hold both an MBA and LLB??!

I don't think you can do the CFA without having a Bach & having legitimate work experience in the field.
consider the Canadian Securities Course as a starter course.
I did my undergrad in Economics and have completed the CSC, but I feel it's prepared me for little more than selling securities on a largely commission basis.

As for the CFA, only a Bachelor's is required to enrol, but 4 yrs. professional experience is required for membership to the Charter.

Likely so. Not to worry; I'll gladly move for work!
