Happy Star Wars day fellow Star Wars fans. I thought maybe we could get a thread going about Star Wars today. So in what order should one watch the Star Wars trilogy, considering part 4,5 & 6 came out first, but are not first in chronological order. Also there are the animated series and the newer series: the Mandalorian, the Book or Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. So what order should these all be watched?

Also who are the best and the worst characters in the Star Wars franchise? My favourite has always been Princess Leia Organa. She was a princess but could kick ass, and without her there would be no Star Wars. Jar Jar Binks was a character I felt to be very annoying, and if they were missing the movie would have been better, even with the theory of him being a Sith Lord bringing some mystery to the franchise.

Lastly for a little google Easter egg today, type “baby yoda” or “grogu” into the search and see what pops up!

I remember watching the FIRST star wars movie way back in the day with a bunch of my cronies at a Drive In Movie theater. We were all chemically enhanced and as my foggy memory recalls it, a Disney thing about Rocky the Racoon was on first. Man we were so fucking high by the time the movie came on it was pretty definite none of us remembered anything cohesive about the movie. Had to go back and see it again to get the story. But back to the stories, so many, so much extra in the mix now.

I am enjoying the Mandalorian, thought ObiWan was meh, but Andor is really good - brings in the dark mood of the times. All the rest now is history and if one were to watch every SW thing now, well it would take a long time. I am sure there is a chronological list out there on the net somewhere.

Watch, you will. Time, it will take.

That would have been amazing to see the original when it came out. Yes there is so much added to the franchise since the first three movies came out. Some say to watch them as they came out, some say to watch them based on the timeline, which is how Disney + has it organized for their Star Wars playlist.

I love the Mandalorian! It really feels like the original 3 movies from the 70’s & 80’s to me, and it’s so well done. Boba Fett was meh for me too. It was very slow paced. I really liked Obi-Wan, and Vivien Lyra Blair plays a very convincing young Leia. I met her at Fan Expo and she said she didn’t watch the movies when cast as Leia, but wow this young girl has many similar mannerisms to Carrie Fisher.

Andor was brilliant.
It was a really good thriller set in the Star Wars universe, rather than a SW movie with spies.

Ahsoka is going to be great. The actor in Sabine’s role was at Celebration in San Diego. She is insanely gorgeous.

The technology used in filming the Mandalorian is great and shows in the way the actors reacted to their surroundings instead of using a green screen.

release order is almost always my answer lol, especially if someone is watching for the 1st time. they'll sort of get to experience the series the way fans did when the movies were first released

chrono order would also spoil the Luke-Vader thing i think

Mando's great, though i need to watch the 3rd season. need to watch Andor too
