Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Well, he seemed to get a shot to the head, no blood that i could see, he's down like a wimp for a bit
and then back up and to the bench. Did he miss any shifts or have any injuries?
With todays equipment it doesn't take much. The elbow pads are not like back in my day. They're more like weapons now and even the slightest impact at the speed those guys are going at will ring your bell. As for it looking like Cooke barely touched him, the camera can be deceiving and again it is often those innocent looking hits that are actually very serious. My worst concussion (in my second year and I missed the last half of the season) happened on a play that nobody even saw what happened to me. Watching game film later, the other player's knee seemed to just graze my helmet as I was going down but believe me, the impact was tremendous.
We all think concussions only occur after a hit where the guy is knocked cold at that moment. In actual fact, most of the concussions hockey and football players suffer don't manifest until later that day or the next.
I had 3 when playing college football and with all 3 I felt a bit woozy for a few minutes but cleared up and finished the game. It was only later or the next day that the headaches and the dizzyness set in.

COOKE APOLOGIZES, SAYS HE REALIZES HE NEEDS TO CHANGE

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Suspended Penguins agitator Matt Cooke says he sees the error in his ways.

"I realize and understand, more so now than ever, that I need to change," Cooke told Pittsburgh reporters Monday night. "That's what I wanted my message to be."

Cooke was banned for the rest of the regular season and first round of the playoffs for elbowing Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh in the head.

Pittsburgh has 10 games remaining in the regular season so the suspension will be a minimum of 14 games. Cooke will forfeit US$219,512.20 in salary.

"I'm fortunate that Ryan McDonagh wasn't hurt," said Cooke. "I don't want to hurt anybody. That's not my intention. I know that I can be better. ... I made a mistake, and I'm the one who's accountable for that. And I take full responsibility for it."

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, quoting GM Ray Shero, said Cooke had sent McDonagh a text message.

Cooke said he had apologized to the team and Penguins organization.

"My actions will speak louder than words. That's what matters most."

And, the Sports Illustrated jinx rears its ugly face again. In its march 9 edition, this mag profiled him as "Public Enemy Number One", aka the dirtiest player in hockey.

A Leopard does not change his spots.
guarantee Cooke will be right back at it next year , but have a feeling it will not be in the same jersey.
