vanessa best to buy a program such as groupmail pro, then you are in control of it yourself. Make sure whatever program you use is set to email each person individually and not as a mass email though otherwise their email addresses will be exposed to each other or if it uses the BCC function it may end up in their junk folder (also a problem with web based email programs). Groupmail pro will send an email as if you had sent it individually yourself.

If one indentifies an ISP belonging to a certain persons account as a "spammer" more or less likely they could get shut down.

I would reconsider that "mass emailing" program Vanessa unless you want to have problems with your account and ISP that you use. People in this day and age don't tolerate unsolicited emails. ;)

Vanessa isn't asking about spam mailers. She's asking about email management programs/services that allow her to mail to her specified email list, not random email addresses.

This is what Constant Contact, iContact, MyMailout, Vertical Response, etc. do. If you read her post, she said that iContact was taking issue with her content. She needs to replace the service she was previously getting through iContact. These are the same services that larger companies use for eNewsletters and legit marketing campaigns.

These are very different services than the bot mailers that are used for spam. It is against the terms of service to use these services for spam and emails are reviewed before they are sent.

And by CanSpam law all mass emails are required to have an opt out function.

Exactly. She will most likely use addy's that sign up on her web page and all of those programs come with an opt out option for the people that receive the emails.

Yeah, I already went through PHPList with Vanessa. We've set that up for dozens of clients who don't want to use a third party service - it's a good application if a bit limited. Because Vanessa doesn't have her own hosting - she's using an escort service template thingy, it's wasn't really a viable option.
