Mason Raymond--what should he get for his arbitration?

What a joke: his agent said on the radio that $3.5-4 million is 'comparable' since other players are scoring less and earning $2.5 mil (ie Leafs' Kumelin).

First off, Canucks suck.... For the umpteenth time. For getting into this situation, not offering him a contract, whatever. Just poor management.

So our frigging Nucks are already at the cap, well whose fault is that? Yes our Einstein Gillis throws $$$ at perennial losers with no playoff success--are u listening, Sissies & Lui? No matters what happens with Raymond, he isn't worth $3million for a fluke season & had no impact in the post-season, we're going to trade him and/or Bieksa. Also sending Alberts to the Moose still won't alleviate our cap issue, according to Pratt.

Especially after seeing a shithole like Yannick Hansen win his arbitration case $800K from a 2-way deal of $500K, I really hope that Raymond gets his $3.25, $3.5 mil to show all the CH BW KH how screwed up Gillis has managed the cap.

The agent for Raymond says hell probably get over 4 mill next season. Im sure if we're stuck paying him so much ...they can always trade some player.

The problem always will be GM's give a big contract to a sh*tty player and then that's a comparable when you out point him. It's nothing new. Personally I would let Raymond go....he's never impressed me even a little. Walk away....just walk away.....

Mr. Hockey expert, before you blow another blood vessel, please know that the team has the option to walk away from an arbitration ruling making the player an unrestricted free agent. Too late to trade him for a bag of pucks now...

It's kind of like walking away from an SP requesting a donation you feel is just too much, thus making her an unrestricted free pussy.

For once I can get the sense that sniffy & Hubba Bubba and I are on the same page. No doubt that a few idiotic free agent signings like Raymond throws the scales off, and no matter what his entitlement process he's earned according to the CBA, it doesn't mean he's worth that or another free agent outside Nucksville --see KH CH, I'm not that biased!

seriously, look in the grand scheme of things: if Mason gets $3.75mil, doesn't the Sissies make $5?? And this frigging independent arbritrator--he knows nothing abt hockey. Thx to Bettman & the PA for also screwing it up. Like Charles Barkley was commenting recently over LeFraud/LeBron issue, don't kill the golden goose! It's a pretty darn good living these athletes have!!!

By last count a few hours ago, the poll question was 'is Raymond worth $4mill?', a not too surprising 76% resoundingly voted NO.

Which begs the question: which of you frigging 24% morons think he's worth it? Other than his foot speed, he's got NOTHING ELSE!!! just a fringe player, exceeding beyond his abilities. Even on a shittier team, u wouldn't want this dink to be on your top 2 lines....

if clarke macarthur of atlanta can get 2.4 million then its almost a given that raymond will get at least 3.5. does he deserve it no, because one season and from the sounds like it a half season doesnt justify getting a huge whopping pay raise. if he is awarded 3.5 million i hope the canucks walk away and get another guy.

Knowing how stupid Gillis is, he probably will sign Raymond & package it with Bieksa. He knows how to spend right to the cap, without our frigging Nucks getting past the 2nd round since 1994.

Go Gillis go!! Go Wilde!!!

So tomorrows the big day for Raymond to get his big cash. Well, some other CH in another thread criticized me for not being a bit balanced. How am I supposed to be when flukey seasons like Raymond & Sedins happen once every 8 years? So I'm supposed to say that Raymond deserves his $2.75-$3.5 arbritration win possibly? When we all know, being the home team, that we've seen his streaky he is (as noted that most of his goals were scored in the first half season) but more noticeably, he's just a fringe player with no sustained intensity? Not to mention I've seen him slip & fall, plus lose his stick so often....

Yup typical canuckleheadism at his best, that giddyup. When only I've been calling it since day one. Big deal that he's a fan since 1970; there hasn't been much good to write about than Linden's popularity, Smyl's work ethic, Pavel's exciting goals....

And with marketing morons with this latest embarrassment of ' circle of honour', you tell me Giddy what 'sh*t glasses' do u wear to cherish our nucks so lovingly?;)

at 3.5M.....maybe Burkie can drive him to the airport.
U do realize that burke's not here anymore ;)

yes I was pleased when he vowed to do that for that Russian Puke. All he cared abt was $$$, unlike our Linden or Courtnalls. Actually even Larionov was a classic. But I digress....

Yes I'll be more than happy to dump Raymond & his $3.5mil at the airports' kitchen garbage bc that's all he's worth. No point in receiving any players for him via trade--thx to Gillis' terrible cap issues. And even if we did receive draft picks, well...we all know how disgusting & hopeless our drafting record is

2 year deal worth 2.5 and 2.6M respectively. It is what it is I guess.

$5.1 mill over 2 years....

all this nonsense that he was going to get $3.5 mill from some arbitrator who doesn't even watch hockey finally ended....

hopefully this year, he can score in the springtime, instead of garbage time
