Hey folks,

I've mentioned a few times on here that I really like the film Capote. The first time I was watching it I was thinking, "I wonder if this is filmed in Canada? The landscapes look more Canadian prairies than Kansas." And then I saw the prison, and I immediately think "Stoney Mountain."

So anyway, on the credits it confirms it. There is all this stuff about Manitoba and "special thanks to the Government of Manitoba", etc.

I know there are a lot of Manitoba people on perb. If you have seen the movie, what can you recognize? I'm a native British Columbian and I've only spent a small amount of time in Manitoba (and 95% of that would be in Winnipeg), but some that I can see are:

the exterior of the prison (and probably the interior) - Stoney Mountain Penetentiary

the place where the two killers are walked up the steps when they are first brought back to Kansas - the Manitoba Legislature

the house where the murders took place - every house in rural Manitoba :p
