maybe I'm missing something here, but when you e-transfer to a recipient who has auto-deposit, you're notified of that before submitting your transfer... and you're also not asked to provide a secrete question/answer for the transfer because they have auto-deposit turned on.

If a person is dumb enough to send an etransfer, they deserve to lose it. Sucks that it affects everybody with all the spam posts though. Just don't send an etransfer. Simple as that. Don't.

I contacted her and played dumb. Her email transfer setting now requires a password. Hmmm, could she have changed her ways
