Depends aren't just a diaper...

Ahhh, the good 'ole depends answer.

I would be swayed by a negative review from a dependable PERBert that I trust. I would trust reviews from people who have reviewed the same SP's that I have seen in the past and whose reviews mirror my own (meaning that we're on the same page). I would also be swayed by an overwhelmingly high number of negative reviews, especially when you consider the ratio of negative to positive reviews.

I also take positive reviews with a grain of salt, especially if they are done by reviewers with a small number of reviews or people that have just joined PERB.

It's the total track record of the SP that I try to take into account, instead of single reviews. If you're basing your decision on a single review you might as well be TOFTT, especially when you factor in things like YMMV.

it depends on what the reviewer found negative about her, sometimes what one person doesn't like may interest me

There's plenty of pooners who yell out when coming "I'm gonna marry you, We're gonna have lot of children, etc. and all manner of fantasy."

But its just fantasy and the next day the guy moves on to a different SP. I wasn't expecting the coalition of SPs on this board to gang up on a guy just because he blurts out some adopting line. Everyone knows that they're both going to forget it and move on.

However on Perb it turns into World War III because of the coalition of the SPs who pretend to don't feel safe, "thanks for the $1500 tax free, chauffered limousine ride, expensive dinner, gift chocolates, gift roses, and upscale hotel suite....here's an e-mail from an allegedly scared SP pretending to thank for a lovely date when can she have another $1500 night date."

I'm not swayed by any one review good or bad. If an sp has about half a dozen reviews and they are all negative then I probably would not see her. If about half are bad and half are good then I would probably still see the sp if I was planning to anyways. Reviews at the extremes either good or bad I'm skeptical of.

So it's the totality of the reviews that is important to me.

I think Maverick was saying -VE. In other words are you influenced by positiVE or negatiVE reviews.
Correct... I had to find the most efficient, interesting, ingenius, yet confusing and annoying way to make it into one of my patented 4 letter abbreviations...
