Was going to a restaurant last night and I just wanted to google it's hours and I came up with this:

Fifty years ago, an American widow named Lucy Mae Brown ran a bordello and opium den in Vancouver. Today, it's the city's most decadent dining destination, pairing a French restaurant with the Opium Den, a late-night lower-level lounge. In the restaurant, stylish locals lounge in circular blue-velvet booths, sampling chef Mook's modern French-Mediterranean menu. In the lounge, funky DJ's, a tasty tapas menu, and inventive cocktails keep the chic crowd happy.
Ended up being a good restaurant near the corner of Richards and Smithe. Great patio to enjoy the weather. Just found it funny that it was once a bordello. Even crazier was thinking that only 50 years ago it also served as an opium den.

This message has been brought to you all by the useless information department.

Yup, thanks for the info.... as someone who's more familiar with Lucy Mae Brown than I'd like to be, I can tell you that as a general place to eat it's not too bad. I think the Opium Den is cool.... if it's not too busy as it's real private.

I've never eaten there, but a client took me there once, and they make a yummy mojito :)

It's got a cool atmosphere too, and pretty waitresses :p

Hmm, sounds interesting. Anyone know what type of food's on the menu, and roughly what the prices are like? A quick net search showed me a lot of favourable reviews, but not the info I'm looking for...

Here's everything your looking for.... http://www.letsgofordinner.com/Vancouver.cfm?detail=62

Incidently.... the owners Mike Mitton and Sean Sherwood were featured on Opening Soon last month talking about the other restaraunt they own together called Century at the bottom of Richards Street I believe. Sean Ownes Fiction, and Mike, together with a former owner owned Crime Lab (now torn down, but may be rebuilt) as well was part owner with Cicchetti on Georiga and Burrard, now called something else.
