That just says what the problem is with our society today.

If you don't have anything good to contribute to a conversation then don't say it. Negativity... that is what those fans stand for. They care only for themselves, not the player who retired because of the pain of his injuries...

The ending of the player's dream of playing and all fans have to say is boooooo... No compassion for their fellow human being...

I'm far from religious but one of the things I learned in sunday school was that everybody is your neighbour and you treat everybody the same, even the Samaritan dying on the side of the road.

Do you have COMPASSION for all people? despite their RACE, RELIGION AND PLACE IN SOCIETY.....

He could have retired during the off season and not two weeks before the season started. He has put the Colts in a bit of a bind. Fans are showing their obvious displeasure of pulling this stunt.

Everything I’ve read seemed to suggest there is more to this story.

I agree I think there is more to the story. In general I believe Luck to be a stand up guy so I believe that it has to do with hidden injuries beyond the shoulder, ribs, kidney, calf and ankles.

I also want to hear peoples comments regarding fans when the Raptors cheered when Durant went down.

On the appearance yes it is terrible to be boo'ed off your own field. However I don't think he wanted to do it that way. He was supposed to announce on Sunday 3pm, but someone leaked it and a reporter posted it during the game. This lead to an uncontrolled message and snap response.

His life, his choice. If I had millions in the bank and a totally shattered body I’d do the same. We don’t have any right to criticize.

^THIS

Pretty much the only person that has all the info the Luck and he chose to retire as he says his body is just plain fucked and he cant play.Let the guy retire and rejoice for what he has done for the team.

The only football game I watch is the Superbowl but I did follow this story and the guy deserves more respect from the fans.

Good for Andrew Luck, for knowing better than to be,"The Crowd Pleaser".
The story of San Diegos',Junior Seau,is enough to rest his case.

Pain is enough of a story. The guy can't sleep more than a few hours without being in constant pain.

Try debilitating pain for a week, let alone a year, and you'd rather die. The fact he dealt with it for two or three years is a lot more fortitude than most fans in the crowd.

No one has the right to boo him unless they're also crippled from pain.

Cue Kenny Rogers all time greatest tune, You gotta know when to...and good for Luck especially if it is psychologically related due to almost four years of pain and rehab. Most outside inner circles have no clue what these guys go through. UW Huskies golden boy Montlake Jake Locker went through similar after being drafted Top Ten first round by the Titans. Four years later his coping mechanism of alcoholism shocked the Washington State world. He retired on $10M and bought a ranch and is helping coach at Ferndale HS. So even though I can’t stand Luck or the Colts, fans need to CUT THE GUY SOME SLACK!!! $100M and early brain health good for him.
