And now Joe Ely. Lubbock legend who influenced the Clash, Bruce Springsteen, and a legion of Americana musicians.
What a shit couple of weeks, really cannot wait for 2025 to just get the fuck out of here.

Don’t wait to do the things you wanna do. I will slide into my grave broke and happy with zero regrets, knowing I lived life to the fullest.

My mom always stressed about money, she saved and saved for a rainy day that never came. Now she can’t go anywhere or do anything because her brain and body are fading so fast. She didn’t get to enjoy her retirement before dementia took everything, now she’s just waiting for peace, asking me repeatedly what day it is and how old she is. She’s not even old yet.

When the Vancouver Sun dropped the Dilbert cartoon I canceled my subscription. About the only thing I looked forward to each day in that paper.
He was not a racist or bigot that some publishing executive dreamed up. He was IMO a genius. Hell half the time I felt I was working with Dilbert and back when I was trying to be an employee, the pointy haired boss was absolutely in the office.
RIP you comical genius.

That is sad, I am sorry Vivian...

I think about what you said almost daily. I try to live and do enough of what I want to do now, as I don't want to wait my "retirement" to experience new things, or just have fun. Retirement, an alien concept to me, maybe for most independent workers too? Anyway, I can't see myself that far in the future, to me it doesn't exist, so it's not too hard to enjoy my life now.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but Scott Adams was definitely a racist and a segregationist. He didn’t think blacks and whites should mix. It’s pretty well documented the crazy ignorant things he’s said about black people on camera.

genious. No. Afraid of his own shadow because it might be a black person. Yes.

My grandma had dementia. Very sad. I'm sorry about your mom xox

I'm the same way. Live and enjoy life now. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? Now is all that matters.
