Yes but if Gillis makes trades everyone complains about it, but if he doesn't then he's doing a bad job. I literally can't think of one thing he could do aside from trading Tom Sestito for Sidney Crosby to make this fan base happy, and even then people would likely still moan that the Canucks lost moxy, swagger, grit or other nonsensical traits for skill. .
I agree with you to a point. Gillis can't please everyone for sure.

I was talking to someone yesterday who feels that Luongo should not have been traded.
Feels he's a top goalie, lose leadership and that we're giving up.
I disagree. I think we have comparable goaltending in Lack and we lose a negative attitude in the room.
We also gain cap flexibility, youth in net and matthias.
Who's right?
We'll see in the next five or so years.
You can argue about each move the team makes, but ultimately the proof is in the standings and the playoffs.
