Looking for quality sushi restaurant

Im looking for a japanese runned sushi restaurant. Not one of those bs chinese owned immitation ones. I know about kamei and Tojos but i dont wanna be spending that much. Any suggestions?

Tried Toshi Sushi?

Some of the best I've had in Van, and very reasonable. On 16th Avenue, just west of Main. Opens at 5, but you should be in line by 4:30 to hit the first wave.

Hapa Izakaya

It is located on Robson St near Alberni I believe. Really pretty waitresses, more like a Tapas bar. It is pricey though, but I would recommend going with a group. Last time I was there was for a stag and it was a blast! Great food. Enjoy when you get a chance

Don't you know that little place on Davie near Burrard? Very Japanese and a lineup at dinner time especially on weekends.
It's the best and so cheap!!!

Once there was a great place on Powell across from park. Don't know if still there, was very good and yes LAG cheap.

Samarai Sushi, it is on Davie and Thurlow.

Kame Royale on Alberni and Burrard (above Tiffany's) is also really good and reasonably priced.

You can really taste the freshness in their food.

Most of Kamei Sushi places are not run by real Japanese...they are either Chinese from HK or Taiwain. An excellent Japanese restaurant on Thurlow and Alberni right across from the Thai House - Samba Steakhouse. It's very pricey though...but authentic Japanese food...and owned by a Japanese...
There are lots of Japanese businessmen going there all the time...
