If someone sent m an email saying hey don't take it wrong but I want to rough you up, I would say, uh how about no.

Due to asymmetry of the relationship between you and the SP this is a problem of trust. Maybe you could hire two people with the second person watching you over and providing the peace of mind to the fist one?
