There's this song from the early 80's that i've been looking at least 10 years for. I don't know the name of the group or the song and haven't heard it for at least 20 years.

I believe it was a group out of Washington State and the song was a true story about a highschool couple who's relationship wasn't approved of by their parents.

What they did was drive a car full speed into the school at night killing themselves in the process. This is a very powerful song as love goes and am now wondering if it has disappeared forever?

Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks but

That's not it...just a Pearl Jam cover of an awesome song from the early 60's i'm afraid, but thanks for trying.

Dunno about the song, but I do believe that William Shakespeare composed a theatrical play on a similar subject a few centuries ago. :p

Do you know any of the lyrics from it? I think I have an idea...
All i can recall is that the singer describes what is happening...something like they went to vist their friends to say goodbye for the last time...the twisting of metal the crashing of glass...

I'll try digging in google some more.

Somewhere Out There
How about this - band is named Thursday, song is called The Other Side of a Crash.

The lights go down, outside
Before our cars collide
And so we silhouette ourselves
For these shades of fire

Do you know where this is leading?
I will meet you there
On the other side of the crash
On the other side of the glass

All our friends are falling out
Can’t look us in the eye
We’re there to hear that broken sound
Happens when we’re

All alone inside
In the middle of the night
I hear your voice I feel the shake (ashamed?)
Every time I say it

Car crash came and car crash went
So I went along with it
Girl, you’re love's not coming back
You’ll never be the same

Don’t look away
I need to know
If this is real

In the hospital ward sleeps through the surgery
Hiding needles in the drawers for emergency
While outside they wait in the pouring rain
On the other side of the glass…

Don’t look away
I need to know
If this is real

Don’t look away
I need to know
When will this end?

The IV drips the days drag on
Adjust the light switch in the hall
Maybe the x-ray screen keeps it from getting dark
The bulb burns out when it gets too hot

Keep crashing this car, over and over
Till in spins out of control
So hold me closer, I might disappear

This time, out of control
Like currents in the water we cannot go off the shore
We lost control

But my favorite car crash song, which may not be what you are looking for, is Fastball's The Way:

They made up their minds
And they started packing
They left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going
Without ever knowing the way?
They drank up the wine
And they got to talking
They now had more important things to sayAnd when the car broke down
They started walking
Where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Anyone could see
The road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer, they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows
Wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home
But they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happy there today , today

The children woke up
And they couldn't find 'em
They Left before the sun came up that day
They just drove off
And left it all behind 'em
But where were they going without ever knowing

I remember in an interview with Fastball the song was about an elderly couple pulling a Thelma and Louis, committing suicide by driving off a cliff.
