If you want to go economy I've stayed at Bosman's Motor Inn and the Burrard Motor Inn. The latter was recently renovated and used to have quite an amazing "jungle" garden in the courtyard.
I've also been to The Sandman Suites on Davie. The great thing about that was the washer / dryer in the room. That hotel is extremely secure (elevator keys) and was about $180 per night. Carpet was pretty dirty but otherwise not too bad for me. They didn't have hot water when my relatives stayed there. If you discover a problem like that change rooms immediately.
The others I think are $60-$100. Its been a while since I stayed at either however so you may want to check the price.
