So I’m sitting in a room at Supreme, and it feels odd… it seems like I haven’t been there in forever. Actually, it feels like I haven’t been anywhere but Puddles’ House in forever. It’s not uncomfortable, mind you – just a little… nostalgic?
That’s all over when Ms. Lilith bursts into the room, though. Her hair is done up… she’s wearing this tight black dress thing with kind of a rubbery trim along the bottom (for better grip? If so, for who???)… and she has this supernova smile that almost makes me believe she’s actually happy to see me. I have a very brief “*sigh*” moment to take in how lovely she is, but she closes the gap and is on me in a flash. So fast, I almost didn’t notice she had one hand behind her back.
Almost.
So now she’s 'all up on me', nose to nose, and she says “guess what tonight is!”
Rabbit: “I doubt ‘Tuesday’ is the answer you’re looking for…”
Ms. Lilith: “It’s ‘Cutlery Night’!”
Rabbit: “Cutlerrrr… Fork and Spoon?”
Ms. Lilith: “Yes, Pumkin. Fork and Sp…”
Rabbit (clapping for his own good fortune): “Fork and Spoon! ForkandSpoon!! Fork AND Spoon!!!.......... yay!”
Ms. Lilith (seemingly amused with my excitement, moving her hand from behind her back and dropping a coil of rope in my lap): “Here.”
So I look at the rope in my lap… and then up to Ms. Lilith… and back to the rope in my lap… and back to Ms. Lilith… and I say “Wooo… uhhh… utthe@#$% ???”
Ms. Lilith: “Seriously – do I have to explain everything to you?”
Rabbit: “Well, not everything. Necessarily. But I’m afraid you’re going to have to tell me what the heck *this* (pointing at the rope) has to do with Fork or Spoon.”
Turns out someone has been a very bad utensil, and as such, has lost the privilege of enjoying Fork while unrestrained (I’ll let you guess who). But I showed her. It was such a happy time, we didn’t even actually get to Fork. And, funny enough, I think that pleased her most of all….
