Leolist: Why Even Bother?

Since Leolist is considered as the best pooning reference on this board, I decided to try to use it hoping to find what I was looking for. And I'm sharing my horrible experience...

First of all, probably most of ads are just garbage - fake pics / obvious fraud / misrepresentation of everything that can be potentially misrepresented. Still by digging in the piles of garbage occasionally it is still possible to find valid ads. By valid I mean pics are likely real, though their quality and variety varies greatly. What can prevent an SP from taking an HD pic in the year 2017? Everyone can do it as a matter of a few seconds! WTF?

But the trouble doesn't end here: most of seemingly legit ads still lack pricing. WTF? Should I actually contact every SP I'm interested in just to get the rate? Why is it so hard to mention it in an ad? Isn't it what ads are for?

Leolist site itself is clumsy, poorly made and lame in any possible aspect. It doesn't seem to be moderated in any shape or form: otherwise all the garbage would be gone! The million dollar question is: WHY ARE WE USING IT? The site is totally useless, and no serious SP or pooner should even come close!

My question is: would you, pooners, be interested in a decent site based overseas, which would ban fraud / fake pic advertisers and enforce mandatory info in each ad? And (IMPORTANT!) would allow SP reviews right next to their ads? That's not too much to ask, and I'm not sure why this can't be done and why it has not been done already?

You are welcome to create a better solution, if you think it's commercially viable.

It's a free country and all, however note it's illegal to advertise sexual services of others in Canada. Maybe that's one reason why you don't see much competition in that area.
That's also the reason why the ads are usually not very explicit.

Why there are ads without prices - that puzzles me too, I don't know a single good reason.

I don't bother with Leo list. Too me, it's full of scammer and fake ads. Of course, this excludes Perb ladies who use Leo List. You know they are " real " on Perb.

frankly, to make you phone me....i want to talk to you...it's a personality thing...i can sell better when i speak to you and can draw your desires out...i have a better chance of making the sale in a personal conversation....

does that make sense...?

LL is an ad site, selling ads is how they make money. As long as that model works why would they care if the ad is a scam or not? Pooners are not their clients.

When it comes to being commercially viable... well if such a crap like Leolist is commercially viable - anything else will be!

As to advertising sexual services of others in Canada - this obviously should NOT be done in Canada to avoid persecution. Canada stands out among the vast majority of civilized countries where this is perfectly legal, and where this kind of savagery will never happen. So a website can be located offshore, and be as explicit as it gets.

Actually it doesn't. Lots of potential clients will just ignore you, and an ad with no price looks fishy and unprofessional in the first place.

But pooners do visit Leolist because thats where the women are. Sure there are scams but many of them are obvious. You can greatly reduce your risk by avoiding the more common suspects like south of the Frasier and the Asian ads. Not all of those are scams but if you read the reviews here many of the negative ones have those two categories as common denominators.

On the island, I trust LL more than BP. Regardless, I only go for ladies at agencies or independents who have been reviewed.

Can You?:
Find hosting off-shore on a reliable server farm that won't comply with the first Canadian warrant that it receives?
Afford to pay for the hosting and site development for at least an year?
Make enough revenue to support the site and repay your investment when you tell 80% of the advertisers using LeosList that you don't want their business?
Get enough traffic from pooners to justify your advertising rate when you get maybe 1 or 2 new advertisers a week?

There have been attempts by various people to start up review sites and advertising sites. They usually last a few months - that's when the people paying for the place run out of money. Advertisers pay for web traffic, web traffic comes because there are advertisers that the user is looking for. If the site can be influenced by the vast number of people that find P4P objectionable, the P4P traffic gets shut down. That's what happened with Craig's List and now Backpage. So, the sites that survive as venues for P4P can only advertise P4P.

Money Talks, everything else crawls away, broken, poorer and maybe wiser.

Pics, yeah sometimes they are outdated. And sometimes there are no price for her own benefit. It makes you have to call or text her, that's step one to get you into the door. Also she can change her rates and offer discounts when its slow, or increase when she needs to. They do verified pics now so stick to those or just do perb advertisers!

OK, I understand the reasoning. It just doesn't work for me.

The rate is the easiest part of prescreening the ads before I think of making a contact. Then I'd check for fake photos, search for reviews. If I decide to make a contact, that will result in a booking almost for sure.

I'd hate to reach to somebody and hear the rate is too high ($650/h or $400/h from unknowns) or suspiciously low. It seems to be a waste of time on both sides which is easy to avoid.

As it is, I met a few SPs who don't publish their rate, but only because I found the rate from reviews or from a friend.

And FWIW, even though I haven't been in the game that long, can't say I've had any issues using LL, BP, CL, SA. Some are more flawed than others but all serve their purpose.

I guess LL shows up as #1 in google search because most pooners out there don't visit or use perb, so they will not get the message about your boycott idea. LL is discovered in a google search AND by word of mouth, thats extremely popular as well.
