I think that as people get older, they discover that the world is shades of gray and not black and white. Also, I think people become less anal about trying to have people do exactly as they do or conform to a group's direction. I've also found myself becoming more fiscally conservative while I become more appreciative and protective of the social safety net and law based rule that our society provides.
