Not that I'd be cheering for this 'new' team if it ever materializes, I do cheer for the Nucks, believe it or not...

But for the Leafs & Sabres to whine and complain about their declining market share, well, I've got a news flash: it's called COMPETITION. Hope the Baillsie camp beats the NHL in their anti-competition rule about that idiotic territorial rights. Still laughing at how the Sharks got blackmailed to paying LA $25million or whatever it was, lol. That's more understandable in a much weaker market.

With a huge market in southern Ontario, ppl even say it can support a 3rd team! And if the product is as good as the Leaf fans would suggest, then they shouldn't be concerned about someone in their 'backyard'...it's all relative, Hamilton can say the same too ;)

I'm all for another Canadian city, and it also shows that it's not all about bashing the Nucks; just some of their bandwagons!:D

BJH redefining the word cheer all by himself, well maybe with a helping hand from his girlfriend - huneyburger.;)

Another news flash, it's called league by-laws.

I think I would die laughing if this new team would win a Cup before the Leafs ended their 40+ years of futility.... :D

your mom says hi.
the declining market share is a ridiculous argument. look at boston, philadelphia, two new york teams and washington.

all of those places almost make up one big city all pretty close to each other.

southern ontario has a huge population, hell most of our countries population is in southern ontario. hamilton is still a long ass drive to buffalo for a hockey game, little shorter to go to toronto from hamilton but still a long way to go for a game, if there are even tickets.

toronto will continue to sell out every year weather or not they win and they won't need hamilton and its surrounding area to do it.

i really doubt that buffalo gets many fans from hamilton, maybe niagara falls, st. catherines and welland but not hamilton.

that argument holds no weight as far as i'm concerned.

oh while we're at it, move the thrashers to seattle and the predators to vegas. if the nhl is so enamored with being in the u.s. then seattle is a golden opportunity. no more sonics means that they do not have a sport for the whole winter. the rivalry between them and the canucks would be insane. as for vegas well they have no professional sports franchise so it might be a tough sell at first but it think it could work in vegas, if not then put the team back in winnipeg for the love of god. why the nhl doesn't make these moves i have no idea, oh no, actaully i do. gary's giant fucking ego.

check your ego and admit you were wrong and do whats right for the game and while you're at it, get them on a legit fucking network again you fucking moron. this ego maniac is turning what is probably the best pro sport to watch into a third rate semi pro league.

when's this guys contract up again???

Seattle have no professional level arena, that's why the Sonics left town, though the idea of having a team in Seattle or Portland would definately create some more rivalries.

For Bettman, his days as the commissioner is over. Whether he leaves ASAP or lasts until the end of his contract, he totally fumbled the ball. If Phoenix moves, the owners will want him gone since he's weak and made many bad decisions. If Phoenix stays, it's costing profitable teams money by being forced to support the Coyotes because they're a mess on and off ice.

If the coyotes moved to ontario would they stay in the western conference still? Because otherwise that would throw off the balance.

What about Key Arena? Never been inside it, but thought it was a good building. No?

It's very old and pretty small compared to modern arenas. That's why the Supersonics left town. The city/county/state wasn't willing to help build a new place, since they've already helped with Qwest and Safeco fields.
