I has Lasik done to my eyes a few months back. My eyes were originally 2.3 I believe; and now they're .001 away from perfect vision. I would highly recomend Gimble Eye Center in Edmonton. No problems with them what so ever.

It's on a case by case basis. I've met two people who've trusted their eyes with Pacific Lasik or something like that. Dr. David Lim on Broadway. I've gone in for my consultation and was given answers to my many questions. Give them a dingle.

:p You do understand that you won't be able to dash out of the office after the procedure without paying, right?

Gimble has a stellar reputation. I think they might have an office in Calgary, too.

hey saw your thread,, i got my eyes done in december and went to london place in new west. would recomend them as i have had great success. cost is depending on your eyes but its generally 2500, more than some of the cheaper places but your sight is worth it.

LAG...

When it comes to your eyes one should never look at cost as the first considering factor on who you would choose to do your eyes. Its more important to make sure that the doctor doing your eyes and his support staff are 100% fully qualified.

I went to LasikMD on Georgia st. to get my eyes done. They were as professional as any eye surgery outfit in the lower mainland. With thousands of successful operations behind them. Although one shouldn't take cost as the first consideration its still a consideration. I paid $1032 to have my eyes done. Thats 2 eyes with everything included so why would one pay $2500 or as i've heard $4000 to have eye surgery? There is only so much doctors can do to make sure your a candidate for eye surgery and the procedures following up to the actual surgery. IE. There is about 3 hours of eye testing that one goes through before you have the actual surgery. The doctors who are charging an exorbant rate for there procedure are rip-offs because they are not giving you or doing anything more than a company like LasikMD.

Check out LasikMD. http://www.lasikmd.ca/en/vancouver/lasik-md-vancouver.html

I had my eyes done at Coal Harbour Eye Centre (they are on West Hastings I think) in the Summer of 2004 and it remains the best $2,500 I have ever spent. The prices have come down a lot now, so even better deals to be had. LAG, since you are Asian you may require PRK as opposed to Lasik as Asians generally have less tissues than others. And the amount of tissues is the overriding factor for which operations is right for you and whether you can have the operation at all.

Pacific on Broadway

I had my eyes done @ Pacific on Broadway. I did a lot of research before taking the plunge, and despite their high(ish) costs, I was most comfortable with their setup.

My eyes were -7.5 and I now have 25/20 vision.

I have nothing but good things to say about the facility, doctors, staff, etc.

If you click on the link for LasikMD you'll see that they are equipped to preform PRK, Zyoptix Custom Wavefront LASIK Vision Correction, Lasik as well as other vision correction alternatives........like Lasek. Not to be confused with Lasik. If for a given reason you are not a candidate for these procedures LasikMD will tell you so and inform you of the best clinic in town that will meet your needs.

I see reading these posts that some may have paid more and some may have paid less but we all can agree that it was the best money spent. To be free of glasses and contact lenses is a god send. Cheers

I believe that Dr Lim is one of the founding fathers in Vancouver of eye surgery. There was a write up in one of my motorcycles magazines, out of California, where the Nationally ranked racer would only trust Dr Lim in Vancouver to do his eyes. Any mistake would cost him his career and he chose this guy.
Dr. Lim was one of the earliest to provide laser eye surgery in Vancouver ... he did my eyes three years ago and I have been 20/15 and 20/20 since. Highly recommended.
