Any one know of a batch needing adoption? Maybe someone knows of a female cat who's been busy this summer & now pregnant ?

I'm looking for just 1. No specific breed, a tabby or black cat would be just fine as well. Slightly wild, feisty or badly behaved will be considered as well, I'm really good at taming animals, I caught and tamed wild kittens as a kid. First set of shots would be nice, but if not I'll Handle it. It can't be an adult sadly, but specifically a kitten, and as young as I can get it. I have a 3 year old cat who is the king of the house (king of the neighbourhood ) and doesn't bond with other adult cats, he will bond with a kitten though.

I'm a very responsible pet owner. I keep up to date with shots, grooming, & bathing. I buy top quality cat food, and make my own as well. I understand the work and care pets need+ proper attention. I LOve my pets dearly. I had 2 cats. One was hit by a car.(sweetest little tabby)

They were like brothers 1.5 years old and 3. I lost the little guy. They loved each other very much and were close. I've since moved to a quiet less trafficked area, purposely and specifically to protect the cat I still have, and his quality of life. I'm settled in (allowed pets) and hoping to give my sweet fats another life companion. Just as we need companionship I think it's nice for animals to have a life mate/friend too.

So if anything comes up that Anyone knows About, and I'm not looking for a "designer " "brand name" kitten. I'm looking for a Charlie Brown kitten, nothing special. One that's overlooked by most, that I can love and will be special to me.

Only request if at all possible. (Orange eyes )
And a male because my cat is fixed but he will still hump female cats if they are willing to screw, I've seen him do it, and the only person in my home who needs to making those wild noises at all hours of the day & night/night for days on end is me :)

Hoping to adopt this fall.

Doesn't have to be in the General vancouver area, I will travel to view and pick up.

let me get in touch with the woman I got Basil from.! She had a cat rescue of sorts, and her kittens are really well taken care of...Basil was raised with adult cats, dogs, birds, and children...

I really have checked, But I'm exploring all options as I'm not in a rush. If someone has or knows of a home with young kittens, or possibly a pregnant cat. I would be open to visits( so the little guy can get to know me ) until he is old enough to leave with me. Late September / October ? Possibly.

Yes I do. It's their nature to go outside. I also leash trained my pet, and he does walk on a leash. He's ok on a boat skytrain bus. Sits calmly in a car. Takes his baths without incident. Just stands there and let's me shampoo. He sits perfectly well behaved while brushed out blow dried and trimmed.

He knows he knows he's safe anywhere in the world so long as I'm with him. He was never left alone more that a couple hours at a time if I had to leave him as a kitten and for the most part he went where I went. I took him everywhere. He's very smart and comes when he's called and doesn't when he doesn't feel like it. Me second cat, got just as much affection, and while I tried to do the same with him, there was no training him. His nature was wild, and as much as I tried he could not be trained. He lived a great life.
I've cancked appoinmrnts just to stay home when one of my boys wAsnt feeling good.

I also sacrifice my own living situations, and make the best of it in order to provide the best living situations for my boys ( one now) a neighbour , PARTY FRAT HOUSE, kept feeding my other cat and letting him inside against me banging on their door several times and telling them to stop because they were installing bad habits.

It was people in that dumb house who found my cat on the road, right beside their home, possible on his wAy over to their house. if it wasn't for distracted drivers texting and doing God knows what on their phone I'm sure he'd still be here. I'm positive!!!

there should be speed bumps put down alma street, Coming down from 4th Ave towards the beach. Too many people speed down that road, or go down looking for the beach since the bike lane got put in. You call me whatever you want, but don't ever insinuate that I don't care for my pets properly. I even picked up and moved right out the beautiful point grey area I was in, out of the vancouver area to protect the cat I still have from the high traffic of summer. Some cats like to go outside. Some cats kill birds. That's them. I allow them to live their life free as they please, and shower them with love and affection. I've made my own collars now, that have no bells or any part that jingle so when they are outside they are not making any noise what so ever for predators to hear. If you ever get a cat who goes outside send me a message. I'll mail you one, ON the house.

I've done so many cat rescue of stray cats. You can't make a stray cat who has been outside their whole life an indoor cat. So yes, it is safer for the cat if they are indoor cats, but for those that refuse to remain indoors, let them live their life outside and inside. You can also build them an outdoor enclosure so they can go outside and be protected.

Thank you. My one was born in a Barn in chilliwack somewhere. He wasn't used to being touched or held. It took work but I tamed him. He became very affectionate. An absolute sweet heart. But he was wild at heart. Regardless of my efforts there was nothing I could do. A lot like me actually. :)

To this day I think he was scheduled to be put down or something. I went to hemlock animal hospital looking for kittens and brought my other cat in with me to be part of the process. There were of course the kitten in the window in the cage. I was allowed to go into a back room with them, and my other. I viewed them all and hummed and hawed. I was just getting ready to walk out the door, and as a last second note before I left, she mentioned there were slightly older ones on the back. I was never told about them at the start. So he was about 5 months old when I got him.

When I brought him into the room, I could barely hold him. He hissed. He didn't understand what touch was. He hauled off and smacked my older cat, and it was that exact moment I fell in love wth him. This is essentially what I'm looking for kind of. A kitten that needs a home, who may require a little extra work but I'm ok with that. That's what I mean by Charlie Brown kitten. Not the pure bred. Doesn't have to be the friendliest. He can be a filthy little thing, and I'll clean him up. I'll personally handle the shots ect, whatever is needed.

The theory is that outdoor cats can be hit by cars, killed by predators, stolen by others, kill birds etc.....If you look at most cat rescue sites, they insist that the cats must be indoor cats or have an enclosed cage if outside. However, there are many that let their cats out so there are 2 sides of the coin. I've also seen sites where people get mad when a dog off leash in a wooded area, is taboo. Just look at the 2 retrievers that died after jumping into a hot springs in (Idaho?), and the owner jumped in to save them and got severe burns. Everyone jumped on him for letting these dogs off leash. Who the hell has a retriever and only lets them out on leash? They love water, and it was a tragic accident. Obviously he walked them there on a regular basis, and they were used to going into the hot springs. However, even the rangers of the park didn't realize with the drought that the springs had reached a boiling point because there was no cool water to bring down the temperature.

Basil thinks he's a dog. He is really imprinted on Willie, and follows him around constantly, he fetches, and would far rather curl up next to Willie than on my lap.

I consider the question of whether to let a dog off leash is a quality of life thing. Our dog comes alive when she's off-leash in the woods. We're out in the woods at least once every day, and it's the highlight of her day. She's pretty savvy about dangerous animals and never gets very far from her people, but of course there are risks. Maybe a predator will get her (and/or me). Maybe she'll run off a cliff in mad pursuit of a squirrel. But if that happens, she'll at least have had some opportunities to do what she was born to do.

I always love it when cat owners think it's perfectly natural to let their cats wander outside so they can do their business in their neighbours' freshly tilled flower gardens (because their owners never seem to have flower gardens) which they always seem to prefer instead of their litter boxes (perhaps because most owners don't change them enough?) and leave their muddy paw prints on their neighbours' patio furniture but absolutely freak out, and rightfully so, if their neighbours' dogs roamed around the neighbourhood crapping on other peoples lawns. Never understood what the difference was except the same old, "but it's a cat's nature to wander around wild". Don't get me wrong, I was once a cat owner and most recently the owner of a large dog and she was always on a lease accept when in an off lease approved area because, as a big dog that everyone thought looked like a big pitbull even if she wasn't, if she wasn't on a lease then everyone was always getting pissed off and rightfully so. If she so much as barked at someone's kid who was trying to tease her she was considered a 'dangerous animal'. And then there are the dog owners that think nothing of taking their dog out for a walk and letting them piss on the first neighbours yard they come to. There seems to be completely different rules for cats and small dogs and small dogs are for the most part are the worst behaved because their owners let them get away with everything including snapping and biting people and treat them like their kids instead of the pack animals they are. (Wish they would try watching Ceaser just once.) Just my observations but hey, if you can be sure your cat isn't crapping in your neighbours' flower gardens and marking up their patio furniture with their muddy footprints like my neighbours' cats do to mine then I say let them run wild. Just don't complain if the neighbours' aren't quite so thrilled the next time they are planting some new flowers and dig up your cat's smelly crap pile.

Ooooooh!!! Is this a sore point for me ... and I am a cat owner! I have had to deal with my neighbour's animals for what seems way too long that I've decided to save myself a trip to the asylum by turning the other cheek (deeeep breaths), I mean it's not the animals' fault, right? My cats don't wander over to her terrace, so why do her's? But that's here nor there ... I wish people had the same level of evolved intelligence it takes to care for any individual, but then there would be nothing to rationalize, debate over, invent by-laws for, have a reason to shame others. :confused:

AND the cat knows what it's doing is not acceptable because she bolts each and every time I catch her in the act!

AND why is it a common thought that cats are soooo independent ... my cats wouldn't know what to do without me (maybe I'm just really dependent though). :nod:
