Her opinion is Leftist....if you cant gather that from her post then you are....well....dumb...or a kiss-ass LOLNow now Storm, her views aren't "leftist" per se because i'm not sure being "pro animal = leftist". Bijou just cares about the suffering of what she eats.
I agree with with dood. To call an apolitical discussion about animal welfare leftist is retarded and done far too often to avoid engaging a person on the meaningful points that they have made. Her opinion is Leftist....if you cant gather that from her post then you are....well....dumb...or a kiss-ass LOL
It's likely that you have no idea what she uses for feminine beauty products. But even she was a hypocrite, that does not make her wrong. The hypocrite argument is simply another form of ad hominem that is also way over employed to avoid debate. On the flip side ask her how many feminine beauty products she buys as a consumer and if the ramifications of animal testing of those products shy her away from purchasingthem....and I highly doubt a single company refuses to test products on animals as it is far cheaper and less letigious than testing them on humans...even people in the prison system.
Given that they eat dogs in vietnam, that pigs, apparently, have a comparable level of intelligence to dogs and make great pets, and that cows are considered to be sacred in India, I would say culture and evolutionary opportunity probably play a bigger role in what ended up on our dinner plate than whether Fido could roll over.As far as animals go....we humans are higher on the food chain...we eat animals according to their intelligence....meaning that your average dog can roll over/fetch a stick/shake a paw....so we dont eat the family pet....a chicken/cow/pig/turkey/bison/grouse....(I could keep adding stuff but I wont as the list would be far too long) does not do such things or display loyalty or affection towards it's master and thusly we eat them...be it in properly healthfull ways such as decent cuts of meat sold at a butcher or grocery chain or by another method which is the processed food type variety that is sold to consumers via places like KFC.
1) Interesting looking sandwich
2) Just your basic chicken burger, with an extra breaded chicken breast and no bleached white bun. White bread no good anyway.
3) One could argue that by not giving money to kfc (owned by pepsi) you are supporting animal cruelty. Without your money, revenue will be down. To keep profits/shares up, they need to cut costs. This could be accomplished by having to get more meet per chicken, or square foot of growing space. This could decrease their already poor quality of life. Save a chicken, eat at kfc.No I'm not serious, just illustrating that morality and economic decision making is not cut and dry.
Thanks to Wolverine for a TOFTT of the KFC double down...he endured the salty/nasty/greasy/calorie laden processed chicken entree so that others can possibly avoid it.....kudos to him.I tried the Double Down today.
There was a sizable lineup at my nearest KFC, most of whom were there to try the same sandwich. After ordering the combo, I had a 10 minute wait. When I received my meal, the Double Down came packaged in a McD style box and in a paper wrap. It was piping hot, there was only a little greasiness, but the sauce put it on the slightly sloppy side. The taste of the bacon, cheddar cheese and the good Colonel's 8-herb-flavored chicken breasts were overpowered by a really high saltiness. The sauce is akin to the so-called Big Mac secret sauce. The fries were meh as per usual at KFC which requires copious amounts of ketchup, while the Coke greatly quenched my thirst and washed down the whole salty mess.
Overall it was OK but not worth the hype. I would get better VFM from Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich combo (substituting fries with chili).

Not surprising, I read that the sodium content in this sandwich is more than the recommended daily intake, so I would expect a salty taste.I tried the Double Down today.
