Ryan Kesler traded to Anaheim Ducks for forward Nick Bonino, defenceman Luca Sbisa and the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. The teams will swap third-round picks.

Rumor: Jason Garrison could also be traded.

Canucks have acquired Derek Dorsett from the New York Rangers in exchange for Vancouver's 85th selection in the 2014 Draft.

I read all the speculated trades on the Canucks forum. Sure Anaheim was one of the main trading places for Kesler. But I never once saw Bonino or Sbisa mentioned.
Garrison to TB was never thought of nor was Dorsett.

Decent amount of cap space freed up now too.

Good trade for the Ducks, Perry and Getlafz are in their prime 3-4 more years and Kesler is exactly what they need.

Jake Virtanen. So peyton what do you think. Like - said that's the kid I was hoping for. Either him Ritchie or Ehlers. Didn't think we'd be in a position to get Jake happy we did.
Speed – Big man speed with acceleration, agility, balance. Won the 30 metre sprint, backward and forward, at the CHL Top Prospects game.

Shot – Big gun, quick finger, hits target, penetrates net.

Power forward – Jake Virtanen has the size, skating, drive and physicality teams look for in a power forward – Jake is probably the purest power forward in the draft.

McCann....don't know much about him, but if TSN ranked him at 16 and we get him at 24.....why not.

Be interesting to see what they do with this cap space. Assuming they keep Kassian, Tanev, Weber, and Jensen makes the team.
Leaves $10-$11 to sign another forward or two.

Good on Benning for cleaning up Gillis's big mess right away. Kesler wanted out and was able to get good return for an injury prone player. Trading Garrison for only a pick was clearly a salary dump and another player with an undeserving NTC. Gives the Nucks more space to resign Tanev to a long term deal. Drafting good Canadian kids is always great to see.

Those guys gutless?

Apparently there's a lot of gutless pukes living in Canada and the USA too. They just post on Forum boards.
you bet I did. and no need to dish out snide remarks Badger, I respect your hockey IQ since you're in the biz
but the flaunting part could be toned down.

btw, I have nothing against European players, they add a lot of value to the NHL game.

I was merely referring to the direction and style of play for VC moving forward
and not about the guys you listed above. sure, those guys are exceptional but I'd draft a
Canadian born player anytime of the day. if you were to look back at the Sochi games, I'm sure
you'd somewhat agree that Team Canada played a very sound game.

enjoy the long wkend Badge, and chill down a notch or two.
no sense stressing over trivial things, life's too short.

and like Don Cherry says – Good Canadian Kid!

Badger Sportsnet is taking over production of HNIC not TSN. My statement regarding Canucks drafting Canadian kids was not meant to knock drafting Euros. Just happy that we drafted a BC boy in Jake Virtanen.

If we get Miller for a good rate I am for it. If they open up the Piggy Bank, meh, not so much.

At least he should be better than our current rotation IMHO. yayaya, I know "They Have Potential". Players can have a shit load of Potential but never deliver it.
