Happily Ever After!
So I live in a nice neighbourhood, a secure building, nothing ever happens around here LOL Just the way I like it.

Yesterday at 3pm in the afternoon, I am on my stairmaster at home, working out and all of a sudden a fire extinguisher is thrown thru my hallway window!!! I live on the roof/top floor.

I see a dirty homeless person, sores all over his face and body crawl thru the broken window from the outside hallway, onto my deck and then tried to get in my living room! I was able to run and lock the patio door in time and called 911. He climbed on the roof, came down and tried to break my door in. Blood/Glass everywhere. I had my pepper spray ready, a knife, my screamer and a golf club ready but OMG! they wouldn't have helped, this guy was so wacked out on crack? meth?

He then tried all the doors on every floor trying to get in. Three cops had to punch, kick, pepper spray him for 5 minutes!!! Seriously 5 minutes to restrain him!!!! The cops kept yelling at me to go inside because they didn't want me to see how much they had to hurt him to get him in handcuffs. (I peeked thru another window and saw the entire thing. )One cop punched and kicked him at least ten times HARD in the face, while the other pepper sprayed him and it hardly fazed the bad guy. He kept trying to get back up!!! He was so messed up on drugs.

Wow. That was intense. Karate lessons coming up LOL

I guess the new guy who moved in the basement had this riff raff over. He is evicted today. Phew! So Keep your windows and doors locked, even if you are home!:(

Sounds like this idiot was doped out on Chrystal Methamphetamine. They're almost invincible and they feel no pain...until the dope wears out in his jail cell.

Glad you're alright.

If you live on the top floor, how many stories is your building?
Also...a window in the hallway that leads out to your deck? Is all this outdoors?
Sorry, but I'm curious and confused as to how he managed to get up to your floor.

Might as well take some lessons on how to use a firearm while you're at it.
Learning some self-defense would be a good idea, but unless you're gonna be able to break bricks with your hands, you're not gonna stop some doped out junkie with your barehands.

All in all, good thing nobody was injured (the druggie doesn't count) and hopefully you will get some compensation or so from your landlord or something.

Oh great, here goes $20 million of our tax dollars for a public inquiry into the cop punching the guy in the face.

The cops will go to jail, the guy will get $100,000 in damages minimum.

Good thing they didn't taser him!

I agree with you on this one! But are they that strong? Do they have another guy beside the dumpster? Remember cops in Canada are brainless!
If I were them, I would use some wrestling skills!

Back to reality....how long did it take for the cops to get there? Was it pretty fast? I had a break in at 4am last year. Some guy took a piece of scaffolding from a construction site about 10 blocks away and used it to climb to the 2nd floor of the house. He jimmied the window, setting off the alarm that covers the outside windows and doors. Thing was, I was asleep, heard a few bump/thump sounds on the side of the house, and woke up enough to realize that maybe something was amiss....he got the window open and was actually in the process of coming in through the window when the alarm went off with a howl, just as I was in the hallway leading to the living room.

Nearly had a stroke and I rushed in just as he was running out the kitchen door. Scary as hell. The cops got him as he was the only sketchy dude walking down my street at 4 am, as they were on the way to the house....and I did get a look at him as he took off out the door....mangy little man, desperate, sick and probably really needing a fix.

Didn't need to by a gun, or plant mines in the backyard. Just beefed up the warning signs around the house, put up a Beware of Dog sign with a scary dog pic on the gates. No wrestling moves or kung fu needed. Just added a few things, and a motion sensor light. Got to know the neighbors a bit better, talked to them to keep an eye out, etc. This ain't Detroit. Don't need to bar the windows or dig a pillbox outside.

Glad to hear you are allright Adrianna. That's why all single ladies need a secure room to run to. The bathroom is best. Just get a metal door and door jam with a heavy duty bolt installed and have a pay as you go phone in the medicine cabinet.

I have a couple of cops who moonlight in the summer with one of my seasonal businesses. They've told me many times that the calls they fear the most involve people on Meth. You can taser them and pepper spray them all you want and they just keep coming and fighting. One guy told me he saw a guy on meth, who wasn't very big at all get set on by a police dog. The dog grabbed the guy by the arm to take him down, instead this guy picks up the 100 lb dog and throws it off of him. In the process ripping his arm to shreds and it still took 3 cops to get him handcuffed.

glad you are ok adrianna - good thinking having pepper spray etc close at hand. When i used to live downtown, a crystal meth addict woman robbed me but her technique was a little more refined than the guy who tried to break into your living room. She knocked on my door and said she was a neighbour who needed to use my phone. Soon as I opened the door, BOOM she rushed me and told me she " was going to find a knife to cut me with if i didnt give her all my money" . The problem was, I dont usually keep much money at my house so it ended up being a very very long and frightening ordeal for me. She refused to beleive that i didnt have hundreds of dollars stashed somewhere and proceeded to tear apart my apartment . In the end, she got away with my cell phone , a duffel bag full of my nicest clothes and a 20 dollar bill. I wasnt hurt at all mostly because I was too scared to resist much except for trying to talk to her about what she was doing and how it was wrong to do it. Ofcourse, she didnt care much about what I had to say.
Anyways , good thing the guy is in jail now. I guess that means the new guy who you said got evicted because of this was probably a drug dealer, i wonder if the cops looked more into that.

Could have been on PCP. It makes people seem invincable and have super human strength.
Another possibility. Although it is most likely meth as PCP isn't as readily available as it once was due to how cheap meth is to produce. And because of that, the second reason, so many people with clandestine drug labs producing this stuff making it VERY readily available (DUMBASSES).

PCP is more common in the US.

Guess you don't read or get out much. Cops almost always get off scot free. Not sure where your cynicism is coming from.

Exactly! If cops' violence is necessary and the witnesses support the case and the evidences support the theory, then the cops are not at fault!
