I saw the following video on YouTube a few days ago on Sesame Street's official YouTube channel and thought it was cute and funny:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YHROHJlU_Ng?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YHROHJlU_Ng?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
But apparently, a number of comments were made by parental unit types complaining that her dress is inappropriate for a children's program, so the producers of the show have decided to pull the taped segment from being used on the show. I believe that I heard it was scheduled to be used on a New Year's show. The video has also been removed from the Sesame Street YouTube channel. The above linked video is from Katy Perry's YouTube channel. It's too bad because "All Katy wants is to play dress-up while she's at Sesame Street, but Elmo is being hot n cold!"
One of my favourite comments that I've heard was a response: At least she's wearing a dress! Elmo's not even wearing pants!
Anyway, here's an article about it:

Skimpily-clad Katy Perry dropped from Sesame Street
Reuters September 23, 2010 4:07 PM
NEW YORK - Producers of the hit children's TV show Sesame Street on Thursday cancelled an appearance by cleavage-baring pop singer Katy Perry following feedback from parents.
Perry, who rose to stardom in 2008 with the No. 1 single, "I Kissed A Girl," was set to appear on the premiere of the program's 41st season on Sept 27, performing her song "Hot N Cold" alongside the lovable puppet Elmo.
But after the segment appeared online Monday showing Perry in bright yellow bustier, Sesame Street decided not to air it. The song, originally about an elusive lover, was rewritten for the segment in which Elmo is unsure about playing a game of dress up with Perry.
"In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers," the show said in a statement, adding it valued the opinions of viewers, particularly parents.
A spokesman for Perry said the singer "enjoyed working with Sesame Street" and noted the video can still be seen on Perry's website. It also is still available on YouTube.
Sesame Street producers noted the show has a long history of working with actors, athletes, musicians and artists, and has always been written on two levels — for kids and adults.
"We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver," the producers said.
Perry is not the first celebrity to be pulled from the show. A music video featuring singer Chris Brown was cancelled in February when Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna.
Perry's hit song "California Gurls," the lead single from her current album, Teenage Dream, was named Billboard's song of the U.S. summer season.
The singer and her fiance British comedian Russell Brand made headlines last week when Brand was arrested following a scuffle with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport.
