I didn't like the opinion expressed by the OP of that thread. He showed his utter ignorance and stupidity. But I don't agree with shutting down such a post, there's more harm done in not openly discussing things than discussing things. Most people were on side with the SP, as it should have been. Keeping the thread available would have made that crystal clear. Discussing it would not have caused any SP to change her prices, in fact, they publicly declared that prices were being fixed (or even going up) as a result.

Open discussion is great...but when topics get hashed to death, you just know the same outcomes are gonna occur. It's either about rates or dating SP's or who offering BB services...blah blah blah. I get that there are newbies wondering about this issues but a simple search function will go a long way.

haha but you're a newbie. How do you know all this?
I totally disagree.
Important or popular topics should and will be brought up again and again because the current people here want to give their take and sometimes opinions change.
If you've been around for a long time like me, then you can ignore the topic if you want.
There are newbies joining the board all the time. Give them a chance to discuss these topics too.
Heck ya never know, they might even write a review after.
Not.

Don't let my post count mislead you. I've been on the boards since 2005 (another handle) and I know of what I speak of.

It will get resurrected like it does every week or 2 weeks. Then we all get pissed off, Service providers and clients alike. Note that it's usually done by the same guys, they fully know what they're doing. Constantly stirring the shit, padding their posts without adding anything of any value to the community.

Glad the Mods and Fred are quick to close, lock, delete threads and ban individuals involved where needed.

I think Badgers statement answers your question, normisanas. Although I do enjoy reading a good debate, this debate, about bringing down industry pricing is,
as one member from the locked thread so eloquently put it, ":deadhorse:"
