HERE'S THE RULE OF THUMB: If you're in a drive-through restaurant/business line or waiting for someone and you'll be parked and sitting for 10 seconds or longer... turn off your car's engine. ;)
10 seconds? That's not gonna happen

thats the rule of thumb my mother follows. if every body did a little bit. did one nice thing a day and did one environmental friendly thing a day, i think the world would be a much nicer place to live.:)

your mom says hi.
This morning was just like any other..

I woke up alive and well, had my coffee, finished some school work that was much past due date (oops) and got ready to head out on the town with a girlfriend of mine! All was well and I was more than enthusiastic! - You could have considered me bouncing off the walls with glee! - Haha

Anyway, my girlfriend and I were about to hit up the grocery store when she decided to make a pit stop at the bank to pay off some debt... So she jumped out of the car (although I love 007 she did park the ride first - Haha) but didn't turn off the engine.

Now - to make my rant clear - I do not drive. I never have driven, and I just don't see the point in learning while I live in Vancouver. Gas is expensive and cab drivers plus transit make a real living off me anyway! Therefore i don't know the laws of the road! - So..

While she was gone, for maybe 5 minutes, (during this time I may have continued to do a little dance and talk on my telly - Haha) a woman tapped on the glass of the car with her keys. I didn't find this very polite, we weren't in a Mercedes but her car is no beater and keys could scratch, So I unrolled the window unimpressed. She looked at me with disgust and said "You stupid young girls always laughing, don't you know to turn off your engine! Its the new law, Jezzz!" (I cleaned up her language a bit) So I smiled, with regards to the environment, turned off the car and apologized. She then continued to freak out at me until finally I told her that I wasn't in the drivers seat and I didn't know how to drive....... But still she continued until my girlfriend finally come out! She then called us a C***s and drove of while giving us the finger!

This incident totally ruined my mood for a bit, until finally me and my girl laughed it off and make fun of the whole situation.

My question is why are people so bitter, and doesn't anyone think of the consequences of yelling at strangers? What if I was mentally unstable, or had serious anger management issues? Wouldn't you be scared to be so stern and rude to randoms? I have experienced so many situations like this living in Vancouver that I myself feel like retaliating in the same way, but I know that won't get me anywhere, maybe that's how these people got there?

Has anyone out there felt themselves going over board with a stranger, possibly taking out life stresses out on them and couldn't stop themselves? How did the situation escalate? End result?

Why, why, why!

I feel better now - that was my rant for the evening!
in my ten years here i have found this city to be famous for these types of incidents. i don't know what it is? maybe its all the moisture in the air or something.

Tell the busybody you are saving the planet from an ICE AGE by making a little CO2 to keep things warm. And smile.

Do what I do. Ask them if they would like a great big helping of "Shut the Fuck Up".

What she needed was a great big bitch slap.
Could not agree more.. People in this town have their heads so far up their asses they have lost sight of being civil with one another and try to make their social issues everyone elses problem.

Not saying I am enviromentaly unfriendly..Just when people try to drive it down your throat with no civility... :p :p

I find that when I am out with my S.O that older scarier looking hag bags like to try and rain on her parade. I beleive thats the only way they can make themselves feel better because looking in the mirror probably puts them in a bad mood right from the get go... :D :D :D

Guess I drifted off topic ;) ;)
