susi, how many have been arrested/convicted since the change?

how many were before?

cause the only difference now is the women aren't being targeted

men were still being arrested before the change, lol

Liberals haven't made any effort to change it, don't see the NDP chirping about changing it either

so it's hardly an issue to not vote for someone
Good questions about statistical facts.

Here in Calgary there has not been a "crackdown" on street level prostitution nor for online stuff. When "prostitution" gets prevalent and noticeable and citizens complain then enforcement gets ramped up.When it comes right down to brass tacks the LE has
bigger priorities with regards to how their staffing/enforcement/protection goes and for the most part "prostitution" is not a big deal.

In the grand scheme of things the Lieberal Long Gun Registry made a SHITLOAD of legal firearm owners CRIMINALS over the legislation compared to the legislation regarding "prostitution".But ALL of the people that object dont GET IT that for the most part LE is not interested in ENFORCING the new legislation as it is a PITA.

Silly enough under Canadian law I can legally own a high powered rifle......but firecrackers are MUCH too dangerous for ME.....same thing goes for a set of lawn darts......nope cant have them because of a brain dead idiot.....the nanny state needs to protect you from yourself.

@the Meat Market!!!lol
so.....sp's are being targeted especially im/migrant ones....operation northern spotlight caused lots of problems across canada....

105 clients in toronto arrested in one operation, 295 clients arrested in edmonton in 2017, 114 in winnipeg.....$750 "john school "training for first time offenders....

i think you guys are just ignoring what is happening....

i am not saying "vote liberal"....i am not saying trudeau is our guy..... i am saying that scheer will be worse .....

voting conservative will just further entrench a bad set of laws which are harming clients and sp's alike.... i guess though if you haven't been affected, it's not happening ...right?

remember when harper threatened to open an RCMP detachment in vancouver? to over ride our non enforcement policy? specifically to enforce the prostitution and drug laws?

so go ahead, pretend this doesn't affect you...that's fine....i am always blown away that people have such a narrow view of this issue...i view it as a barometer of the over all party line.... and the conservatives...never measure up....

If that's your main political concern, then your view of government is over simplified. This is so far down the list of priorities as to be non-existent in my world.

must be nice.... not to be rude but....it's interesting to hear how committed some clients are to our safety...on all sides....

i believe i did say, i view it as a barometer.... as a small business owner and citizen...i of course have other priorities as well....if a government cannot make common sense decisions about something as simple as sex work....what does that say about any other decisions they are making?

this is all i will say about it, carry on conservatives!!!

Perhaps you don’t think it’s important the government is working to improve the econmy. But consider this; if people are not doing well or losing their jobs that will definitely have a negative impact on your business.

Do you have a clue what Susi does for this entire community? I'm assuming you are part of it too. Do you Poon? Have you read anything about C-36 on this board?

She weighed in because the C-36 effects all of us and she is our liaison with local police, government and SW advocates. Taking her to task on whatever economic issues concern you is a non-starter.

Sorry, which major party would revoke C-36? The Liberals have had almost 4 years, and as far as I know they think the Nordic model is awesome.

I don't buy that

first off I think Peter Mckay was the problem, he's a self-righteous piece of shit, he's gone

I don't think Sheer will reverse it, I also don't think he will change it making it worse either

he's going to have far too many other more important things to focus on bribing the left leaning/middle voters with

he's already got the right nut jobs, they have no other option

Maxime, isn't going to win the ones who want prostitution to be more extremely criminalized

he's probably against gov't involvement, he is with everything else

I really don't see any upside for Sheer to open it up and make it worse

the majority of people just wanted it off the streets
