It was a cold evening and I was wondering about Vancouver with a hunger roaring in my stomach and a gleam in my eye. I glanced at their tantalizing menu and proceeded to choose the Kurobuta Terimayo. I steadfastly waited in the cold for my delicious dog to be prepared to exclusive quality and perfection...the tension and anticipation was almost....unbearable.

Finally...my Kurobuta Terimayo was ready and looked exactly like the picture. IMHO, it was everything that it was described...the Kurobuta sausage was to die for. Juicy, delicious, exquisite. There is no one word that can sufficiently describe this exclusive taste, texture and quality. I did not need or wish to add any additional flavouring or spices to my decadent Kurobuta Terimayo. While i was eating it certainly brought upon a euphoria that only one can describe when eating it. Even when I was finished enjoying this I even noticed that the napkin provided was of pristine feel IMHO.

The rest of my day whether I was on Davie St., Homer St. or on West Pender...or dining on the delicacies of fresh and high quality seafood the only place where I really wanted to be was Japadog.

You are an interesting member of great gastronomic enjoyment. Having read many of your restaurant/culinary reviews now, I'm sure people no longer think that you work at any of the fine establishments that you write about!

Japadog is a 50/50 chance. Just like any food truck

It depends on your location, the cook, and the freshness of the toppings.

I had one from the Sutton Place hotel location - AMAZING
I had another from a Coal Harbour location - same type, with the seaweed and Terimayo, but it was AWFUL. HAd t0 through it out.

In Ontario we call it "street meat" Out here they call it "Japadog" but in Japan...THERE ARE NOT HOT DOGS!!

I respectfully disagree. After many encounters with different locations of JapaDog I find that they are all consistent and deliver an exclusive experience. IME, I've never had to throw out a JapaDog. Don't get me wrong, there are some JapaDog's that I favour more than others on their menu offering but overall they deliver on taste, freshness, uniqueness and quality.

I stood by one of their carts one day and saw some Dog costing $16. I thought WTF $16? I could go to a reasonably priced restaurant and have a Steak Sandwich and a Beer for $16 not just a Dog. Can't even remember what type it was but I later found a Mexican Truck that had the most amazing Fish Taco's with freshly caught halibut not cod or snapper.

Best Dog EVER was at California Adventure beside Disneyland. Big Beefy, tons of options to have on it and I savoured every bite. I haven't found one better anywhere since and that includes about a dozen Baseball Stadiums in the USA. Although Wrigley Field Bars and Restaurants nearby did have some interesting Dogs

When a food interest moves from casual objective review to raving obsession, it belongs in the Lounge. This board is all about obsessions IMHO. Obsession takes many forms. If it is delicious and makes us crave, tingle, and think with our senses, we want to hear about it.

I had one about a year ago. I couldn't understand what was the big deal about it, a hot dog with some weird japanese toppings.
