Just got a 06 GSXR600 a few days ago, now can concentrate on anything except how freaking awesome these motorcycles are. The Sound of that gixxer
Yes, I am a poser, its going to have chicken stripes on the tires. Oh well these toys are one hell of a good mental escape from the stress of real life.

Who else is into this GSXR, Ninja, CBR, world?

Had an 89 FZR600R in '91. Bought it when I was 15 and went at it with a toothbrush for six months before I got my learners. Took it out once before that and lost a cop in my neighbourhood - got the bug from that episode. But after a few far too close calls on the road, sold it and got an XT250 dually. Nothing but small commuter bikes for me these days. For whatever reason, I always end up with a Yamaha.

Some buddies of mine joined the track association in the Valley somewhere and they're loving it. I seriously think getting off the streets and on to the track is the way to really take advantage of the technology and get your rocks off.

If I were to ever get back in to it, I'd go for a classic Honda XR600 and convert it to a super motard. These things have got a thump that even the Hog guys admit is awesome.

Then, of course, there's sex on two wheels.

Have fun and keep the rubber side down eh!

I traded in my CBR250 for the Gixxer and I only miss the little CBR for cornering, Those little CBR250/Ninja 250 and Ninja 300 are corner monsters. Its hard work cornering on this GSXR600 compared to those bikes.

CBR250 is a great little bike! The Gixxer has always been known as a top speed monster... Built for straight line record breaking and not much else. The 1100 is the beast of beasts.

I'm sure you noticed the jump in insurance premiums on anything above 399cc too...

I always recommend the Honda Hawk 400 (which is actually a 399 - don't let Autoplan fuck with you on this fact) to any of my adult friends who want to get a great starter bike. Tons of em out there, quick enough but easy to handle. $2500 or so.

Good for you for starting on a 250 and appreciating it, then graduating to a bigger bike. Many, many people don't do this, and they pay the price. I scraped my friend off the road a couple summers ago and he still has a limp to this day. Had to go out and get a 600 with NO experience.

Used to ride cafe racer type bikes My favorite was a triumph bonnrville. Now I ride bike comfortable cruisers. My current stable is a Honda VTX 1300 and a Victory Cross Roads which is 106 cubic inches or about 1735cc. The victory has all the bells and whistles and is very comfortable.

First bike was also a trusty Honda Nighthawk 400. I loved it but traded up eventually to a honda V65 Magna. This was in the eighties but its still the fastest bike I have ever ridden. Just scary fast....
