I've been out of the loop for 2-3 years, what platforms are we using to look?

(mod edit)has a few profiles as well from some SPs that are well known, but I'm honestly not sure how up to date they are.

Locanto feels like a gong show. Leolist is still my goto (though it does really feel like LL is on it's last legs in Vic), though I understand why everyone points at Tryst (while the SPs on there are great/reputable, I find Tryst not great as a site).

Both Ondate and Locanto are scraper sites. That means we aren’t advertising there on purpose, they don’t generally have permission to post those. They take our ad from either Leolist or Tryst and copy it onto their site. That’s why some of them are very out of date. Some providers go to the trouble of trying to get their ads taken down from those sites, but there are so many, eventually some give up. I don’t bother anymore and just choose to see it as free advertising.

I followed that link and several providers listed there are either retired or have moved away from Victoria. I saw myself on there too and have never even heard of this site before.

Many of us still use Leolist because it’s still the most popular, but it’s stupid expensive and full of scammers which is why so many prefer Tryst. The filters are pretty good once you get used to them, and all of the providers actually exist which saves you a lot of time browsing. They’re also open to feedback so if you see ways they can improve, send them a note!

Oh that's interesting and explains a lot (like why 90+% of the ads I've responded to on Locanto I haven't gotten a response from).

Huh look at that, there is a (mod edit )and one of the categories there is "Feedback / Suggestion / Feature request". I'll do that, thanks!

Another spot I didn't think of to look for SPs is X/Twitter. A lot of the more reputable ones have profiles on there and post schedules/etc. It's a little lacking in discoverability, but it is another way SPs promote themselves. And many reputable SPs will promote other reputable SPs profiles so it has a bit of a "community" feel.

Twitter was a valuable (and free!) tool for advertising… tho I’m noticing many are gradually abandoning twitter for Bluesky, due to the dumpster fire that is Elon… but so far I don’t have as large a following there, so it’s tougher to be seen and I often still end up posting on both.

musk took all the joy out of Twitter lol. I deleted my account there. A lot of working girls have left Twitter and have moved over to blue sky. If you create an account on blue sky and start following a sex worker or two, they’ll repost other sex workers and then you can follow them too. And before you know it, you’ll be following sex workers from around the world. Put your favorites into lists and spread the love.

blue sky is where the non toxic fun action is

I created my Twitter account 10 years ago but only started using it the last year or so. I was following a few hundred when I left. I had it linked to my site but then it just got more and more toxic smd I couldn’t stop myself from reposting political stuff so I deleted it from my site. My feed went from naked babes to depressing politics.

I want peace in my life so I deleted Twitter all together. So many anti sex worker trolls on the site too. My block list was longer than my following list lol. And then musk changed the way block works so I left.

but it wasn’t painful for me to leave. I only had 2 clients that came from Twitter and I was only following a few hundred and had a few hundred following me. I understand having thousands of followers and losing that.

on blue sky, I’ve only been active there a few months and I’m following 4000 plus and have 4000 plus following me.

^^ This. It'll take some time (Twitter has almost 20 years of user base built up), but I'm really hopeful that eventually all X/Twitter folks will fully switch over. I'm also hopeful that when that happens all the toxicity that's so prevalent on X/Twitter doesn't follow, but we'll see. 🤷‍♂️

At least the block button works the way block should lol. Musk has funny beliefs about freedom of speech. You can only have freedom of speech if you’re pushing his narrative. Anybody that disagrees gets shadow banned. If you block somebody they can’t interact with you but they can still see all your posts because of “freedom of speech.”
