In order for Canucks to trade Luongo a team has got to want him and his 10 year contract.

why is this news? we knew a month ago louie asked out.

expect av to use the media a lot more this upcoming season to call out players. he knows he's now on a short leash too, b/c the aquilini's want results. so he'll do whatever he has to do to light a fire under the butt of his key guys. imo, the aquilini's wanted him gone but gillis went to bat for him. so now he has to get us over that last hump.

I don't blame Luongo at all. Especially the way some of the Vancouver fans have treated him over the years. I'd want out too.

I hope he wins the Stanley Cup wherever he ends up. Seeing as Vancouver's not going to win one anytime soon. If ever at all.

AV extension will turn out to be a disaster.

He's always thrown his players under the bus and as the team weakens the fractures will grow bigger.

My guess is he won't last those two years, and Gillis may precede him out the door.

Luongo is getting out just in time.

AV is da man! Screw both those whiny f*cks!
AV is a good coach, but saying Luongo wants out to the media puts his GM in a difficult position. It makes a diffiicult trade more diffiicult as other GM's will put the screws on Gillis.

Why air all this stuff out, incudling his thoughts on Kesler? Maybe they want to ship Kesler out? I didn't like the way AV handled the Hodgson situation either. Calling players out to the media makes everyone look bad, mgmt to to coaches to players.

I'm with Badger on this. Keep shut, AV.

I find that the goalies have to be ester good for the Chanuks because the player really are not that good at defense or scoring .. And with Luongo they were expecting one man to save the team , all most every game ..He is only a man , with his own set of problem . the fact that they let the other guy play in goal helps a lot , but also show everyone that Luongo is replaceable which they should of saw sooner . But i still like the Chanuks

Vancouver, seriously it's one of the least knowledgeable fan bases in the NHL.
This, I wholeheartedly agree with. The biggest fucking clusterfuck hockey city in North America, Toronto being a close second. Kudos Badger, for your objectivity. Very rare in these parts.

The NHL does not play a balanced schedule. The fact that the Canucks play in the weakest division in the NHL, has played a significant role in their regular season success. St. Louis' 109 points playing in the Central division easily trumps Vancouver's 111 points playing in the Northwest. I'm surprised more people haven't brought difficulty of schedule into the discussion. In fact, before the season even starts, the Canucks are guaranteed to finish in the top 3 of the Western Conference.

I'm sure Hunka will address this when he gets back from Vegas. He's probably been saying it for a long time now.

LMAO.....shocker :fear: Get ready to pay up wilde ;)
If Luu gets to go to a good home, I'll gladly pay up. Gillis and AV are already backtracking on that stroy, not looking good for you...

I hope the whole Luongo saga blows up in the Cafucks faces.

AV and Gillis painted themselves into a corner and now they are trying to cover their fat asses.

Well the Louuuuuuu trade winds are starting to heat up, will probably be done before summer is up. I thought it would take a little longer than that. Your money will be appreciated by the charity you choose ;)
I am not conceding anything but I have made a donation to the Jun Lin family fund (the poor guy who got dismembered by that sicko Magnotta). I doubt Luuuu will go anywhere until Parise is signed somewhere and Nash has found a new home.
