Jeezus it was 34 c here today and that's about 92 or 93 f
That was about 6 years ago when i lived in osoyoos....we had about 2 weeks in a row where we were in the 40's every day.
vehicles broken down all over as they over heated...stores all sold out of ice.
people would just stay in their houses with the AC on....My pal worked in an office downtown, said some days he guessed over half of the staff just stayed home as it was too damn hot to go to work.
My thermometer on the back side (shady side) of my house read 47 one day....its not a certified thermometer so include a litle error in there maybe, but i remember the local radio station saying nearly daily, welcome to another day in the mid 40's.
Actually damaged the orchards in the area a lot.
I never even bothered to water my lawn...it was pointless to try...i just let it cook....it just crunched as you walked across it.
Its a bit cooler where i am now, i just bought a house about half ways between summerland and penticton....in a gated community atop the sandstone bluffs that overlooks okanagan lake.....Osoyoos is way to hot for me.
here it usually only gets up to maybe 42 on a hot day
