About 3 weeks ago, I had my very first experience with an sp. It was supposed to be a gfe, but there was no kissing involved, just a bbbj with bls, and vaginal intercourse with condom. I also received a massage around a week ago from a different mp where my penis may have come in contact with her vaginal area. This would normally not concern me but this mp had really coarse pubic/leg hair stubble that felt scratchy to say the least. Quite frankly, I regret both of these experience and am paranoid that I might have contracted an STI.

I have two bumps on my genital region. The one on my left scrotum is around 1cm in diameter, the one on my foreskin is much smaller, around 2mm in diameter, and are both itchy and pinkish in color. The bumps are on my skin, not the tissue underlying it because I can freely "move" the bumps by pulling my skin in different directions.

I was watching tv last night and suddenly felt an itchiness in my left scrotum so I started to itch it without paying much attention. I think I irritated the bump by doing so, and increased the diameter of it. A few hours later, I felt another itchy sensation around the same area, but this time also on the foreskin of my penis. I did not itch this area as much as to try and not irritate it any further. The itchiness seems to come and go, and it's not an unbearable sensation. I tried squeezing the bumps to see if they would be particularly sensitive to pressure, and they weren't. These bumps are not open sores, nor blisters, and are actually quite subtle. I would not have noticed them if it weren't for the itchiness and redness. They feel a lot like mosquito bites, and as much as I wish that they were, I am almost sure that they aren't. Other than the characteristics described above, I feel completely normal everywhere else.

I am going to a clinic to get tested tomorrow since today is a Sunday and there are no clinics open in my area.

I'm posting here because many of the resources online seem to differ in their opinions. I would really like to know if it's possible to find out what types of STIs I should get tested for from my current symptoms and recollection of what happened. I've narrowed it down to HSV and HPV from reading about the symptoms and methods of contraction of all the common STIs, but I would still like to get some quick feedback from a trained expert.

Thank you for your time

Hi beryll

It is really hard to diagnose conditions on line as I would need to see it as well as do some tests and look at your medical history. What I can do is give you some suggestions on what could be going on and what to do next.

It is great that you are planning on going to a clinic. A health care person really needs to have a look at the red bumps. I know it can be difficult talking about what happened with a health care person but it really helps when they are trying to figure out what is going on. You do not need to tell them everything; you could even just say it was a casual partner.

From what you have described it does not sound like an obvious sexually transmitted infection (STI). From what I have seen in the clinic there are many different things that can cause itchy red marks on the skin. Like fungal infections, irritation from sex, reaction to certain soap products etc… Pubic lice (crabs) can also make the skin itchy but you can usually see them.

I have also found that if someone is really worried about getting an STI they can wash and examine the genitals more often. This can cause rashes on the genitals.

I would recommend that you get all the tests. Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis can pass with a bbbj and it is common not to get any symptoms. We always recommend that people with a rash get a syphilis blood test when they come in and another one at 3 months. Here is a link for more information on the recommended tests and how long you need to wait.

If it is HPV (genital wart) the health care person would be able to look at it and tell you, from what you described it does not sound like a genital wart.

Most people do not get symptoms to the herpes simplex virus (HSV). If they do get symptoms it usually shows up as an open sore, which the health person could test. From what you described it does not sound like an open sore, is that correct?

It is also common for people to feel regret after sex. Sometimes this can be related to your individual risk tolerance. Here is a link for more information http://healthnurse.wordpress.com/faq-about-sexual-health/risk-tolerance/

It is also common for people to be unsure of what they want from sex, knowing what you don’t like can be a first step. Everyone has different sexual needs and we are all influenced by different families, cultures and religions. This can sometimes make decisions around sex difficult. I have found that it can sometimes be helpful to talk with a sex counselor. Here is a link for more information.
