So I've been hearing about these AI art recently, and have been wondering when the agencies will start using those instead of someone else's photos. It finally happened (at least the first one I noticed).

I wonder how she really looks charging $450/hr
It's absolutely insane how creepy, fake and CGI these look. It instantly puts me off booking somewhere but I guess it obviously works on some people?

I don't understand why these altered images are so prevalent with Asian agencies or in Asian culture generally? I also go to an Asian hairdressers and when booking an appointment recently I noticed all the images of the barbers have those weird anime/cartoonish eyes imposed onto their pictures through some sort of app or software. Just why?

I've already heard of kids using a program called Chat BGT to write their essays and assignments from top to bottom. Artificial intelligence is here, the next big societal moment after the internet, and I'm equal parts curious and terrified to see how AI fundamentally changes our society for good. On the topic of this thread though I do believe we have bigger things to be worried about than fake pics which were already a thing lol:

News source aside, it is so strange to think that these types of stories are what is to come.

There's a text to image bot called Midjourney that got a recent update and is able to produce very photorealistic images of people. I learned about Midjourney around the same time ChatGPT made its way early this year. Whatever versions they had at the start of the year they already have better versions already and we're only 4 months into 2023 ... food for thought.

I think you mean Chat GPT, now 49% owned by Microsoft and currently being integrated in the next generation of windows, office, search, etc. AI is coming, and it's moving super fast.

Honestly it's a pretty smart move as Google is way behind the 8 ball on this, and Bing, believe it or not, may actually be able to take some market share.

As for midjourney, that program is nothing short of amazing. If you havent tried either of these things, you should.
