A group of 8 friends and I made an agreement that anytime we were going to book to see someone for sex, we would either take care of business ourselves or distract ourselves in a non-monetary way for the month of January.

Realizing that abstaining from something may result in us being overzealous in bookings as the month progressed, we based this only on our standard habits so we cannot contribute more than we normally would.

The money that we would have spent, was to be tallied up with the total being donated to the Children’s/Woman’s hospital.

We are 10 days away from the due date and while I know our group likely doesn’t represent the norm, the number is quite disgusting to me.

If anyone is looking to tighten their belt for 2021, jerking off could be the very thing that saves you from financial ruin

Anyway, we love all you SPs so I hope this isn’t offensive but this little exercise has been something else and maybe a benefit if any of you are feeling the heat from the virus still hammering a lot of industries.

Actually, I think this may be the most pointless post so far this year. Yes, I'm sure this will now degenerate into a flame war, but for Pete's sake! Everyone on this board understands the value of "working girls"!!! Unless I completely misunderstood the OP (and that's always a high probability), the guy wasn't knocking SP rates. He started a humorous thread. There was no preaching at all. The whole point was a JOKE, not any kind of reflection on his ability or willingness to pay, nor an indictment of rates. He tried valiantly to preempt exactly this kind of criticism and to emphasize it was a joke, but sadly there are always people around who apparently have no sense of humor. The post IS A JOKE!!! It's supposed to make you LAUGH, not get angry, defensive, or self-righteous. Take it as it was intended.

If there was anything more to this than a joke, it was the fact that the OP was being charitable and supporting a good cause. I thought it was cool to donate the money as the OP did, rather than simply blowing it elsewhere. Kudos!

AMG, by my reckoning your actions are totally commendable and admirable. Nine guys withdrawing their (and I'm speculating here) $4500 from the pooning ecosystem (9 guys x $250 a visit x 2 visits in a month) is hardly going to cause a crash in the market of millions of dollars exchanged a month. The fact that 9 dudes can openly discuss this hobby brings it out of the shadows (which more than one SP has advocated for on Perb) is a positive step; that you're able to delay gratification is a sign of maturity; and that your are donating the proceeds to a Children's/Women's hospital is worthy of a high-five indeed. Three gold stars from me. Despite the contrarians, I thank you for sharing.

Working girls are most definitely needed! I think it’s a profession that should be celebrated far more than it is in this modern era.

Resentment is a very strong word and I sincerely hope that this community hasn’t had such an experience. I’m grateful that my worst experiences in life have been at worst, categorized as disappointing.

Just to clarify, my post was intended to be in light hearted humour. There is a quick back-story though.

A good friend of ours who’s a female surgeon at Childrens recently shared with a few of us over the holidays about some of the challenges they were faced with.

As a joke, I suggested to one friend that if they donated half the money spent on escorts, the hospital wouldn’t ever have to ask for donations.

He laughed and said I wasn’t any better. Truer things have not been said.

There is a small group of us that sort of know what the other is up to regarding our antics so we posted in a wickr chat that we should play a game for January and donate to the hospital.

Zero pushback and we agreed. We even have a tracker, like those thermometers they use in fund raisers! Haha

It’s been fun to take part in and I can’t think of a better cause since we all love woman, not just the sexy parts.

We plan to tell our doctor friend at the end of the month and while she always says we have yet to grow out of our adolescence, we hope it will bring a smile to her face and to those that these machines will help.

Next month is going to be wild haha

The act of delaying gratification and donating is definitely commendable. The long-term benefits and happiness that such donation would bring is probably understated and misunderstood by this corner of the Internet - and to be fair, most corners of the Internet too.

I do want to bring to attention the title of the post "it's fucking expensive". I can't fathom the number of guys on Perb that probably should not actually be pooning (mods forgive me, not trying to drive people away). It's supposed to be a leisure, not a necessity. (yes, I would argue pooning to be want rather than a need, but let's not derail this) The number of bad reviews that people post are astounding and it is often spiteful in nature. It's cheered on by a whole host of others and I can't think of any reason that they would be happy about it but because of their money (I suppose that's why we're all here, but to varying extremes). Spend what you can on ladies, but "what you can" shouldn't mean it would make you more miserable than if you didn't spend that money.

I honestly think people would derive more enjoyment that way - either do pooning right or don't do it at all, otherwise you get stuck in some kind of pooning hell where you a) can't get your fix as often as you'd like so you spend too much time on perb and b) you risk a bad "fix" when you're already short on fixes - and yes I just compared pooning to drug use. Granted I do have the benefit of hindsight but I would recommend some people to quit until they can do it properly - if possible.

I think missed the point of my post, unless you believe posters of Perb make up 100% of the pooning population in Vancouver.

As it has been said, pooning is not cheap. COVID has had a disproportionate economic effect on the population depending on their wealth. The poorest (being those who could not afford to poon to begin with anyway) were hit the hardest while the wealthier either maintain status quo or are thriving.
