A Question of Etiquette

...I always ask clients that they respect my privacy by not posting my phone number or pictures. I don't do this full time, don't have a website and I prefer to keep my info private. ......
Not to derail this thread but it brought a question to mind. I (at least as far as I know) have never posted the contact details for an SP that they gave me, but I have posted the information that was in the advertisement. If somebodies contact details are a web page, then I post a link to that. This seemed reasonable as it was the public information I had available to me. Is this the right thing?

I read the review AND luv-em-n-lv-em 's posting (before it was deleted)

If you catch the drift of luv-em-n-lv-em's handle you can appreciate why the post was deleted. luv-em-n-lv-em's post was pure speculation, critical and hurtful, maybe he had his turn and he wants to spoil it for the rest of us
As far as the handle goes, it is pretty much descriptive of the experience. How it relates to my posting being deleted is frankly beyond me!

As for your handle, "Stella" suggests you might be female. "Hardon" suggests otherwise. If you could tell us whether you are a SP or SR (service recipient) that would be helpful in evaluating your comments.

As for one of my posts being speculation, I assume you are referring to me questioning if the review was a shill. I didn't say it was a shill definitely and asked for the experiences of other members. At the end of my post, I even admitted that my earlier review of Anita was somewhat harsh, but when everything other than the new review itself was deleted that disappeared too.

As for being hurtful and critical, I can see how my review could be seen that way (though I stand by the essence of my statements) but my response to the newer review was really pretty tame. Frankly, this would all be much clearer if the evidence were still on display. There are enough PERBs and SPs with opinions/attitude (which frankly I like) to cut me down to size if that was called for and I'm OK with that. If people want to be treated with kid gloves they are in the wrong forum.

Remember that luv-em-n-lv-em's post cost him nothing; on the other hand Anita advertises on PERB, provides a unique service and luv-em-n-lv-em's post probably cost her $$$
This is all true, but what's your point? Am I supposed to pay to do reviews? Are advertisers to be protected from reviews? Isn't everyone's service unique? Am I only allowed to do reviews that won't have a negative financial impact? Frankly, I think you are hurting your case by raising these points.

The moderator made the right call on this one
Maybe he did. But given the fact that other than posts on the board I have heard nothing about this from any moderator, I don't even know that my comments are the cause of these actions. Maybe someone else said something really grievous and the moderator decided to excise everything except the review for some reason.

...Any Sp asking me to put her on the "no review list"...
There's the problem with the entire system right there. An SP having a say as to whether or not she is reviewed would be fine as long as we had access to the names on that list. Without that access, this whole review process is a farce. I, for one, would like to know if an SP has requested to be on this list so that I at least could decide for myself whether I want to take a chance seeing an SP that, for whatever reason, doesn't want to be reviewed. 99 times out of 100, an SP should have no problems being reviewed unless they have something to hide. That's how I see it anyway, and why I'd like to know who they are so i don't waste my time and money on them.

Gimme a break, isnt it obvious how you can work the perb system?

Let me show you how

1) Sign up multiple handles and shill yourself. Chances are, if someone calls shill, the mod will erase everything beside the review itself and lock the thread down. A lot of the reviews are posted by a brand new handle, and after the raving post, the handle ceased to be active. You can argue that the reviewer gets frustrated being called a shill, but to cease lurking on perb?

I can provide example of this type of activity upon request.

2)If you recieved a negative review, try to stir up a fight using existing handles on hand or the help of the lapdogs. Chances are the whole thread will get trashed. How many times have you seen all replies to a negative review removed beside the review itself and locked? I dont recall seeing many of them. Then why is it that positive review gets to stay and locked with everything else erased? You tell me that perb doesnt favor paid advertiser?

I can provide example of this type of activity upon request.

I am really getting tired of hearing this over and over! Send me your examples!

Maybe some of the paid advertisers should get on this thread and let it be know that we won't just delete at the sight of a red name!!!
I've never ASKED for a review to be deleted !! Threads YES but NOT a review.
