Is this a 'Hobby'?

The use of this term in this application has always
struck me as comical and absurd.

Hobby? Get Real.
Let's be honest with ourselves here.
It's not a hobby.

Woodworking is a hobby. Sewing is a hobby. Collecting unique stuff of a similar kind, is a hobby. The Swap meet MIGHT be a hobby.

Fucking Escorts is NOT a hobby.

If I were George Carlin or Billy Crystal, I'd 'be all over this concept' in my stand-up routine, with a parody like, shouting out the side of your mouth across the house to the wife,

"Honey, where did I leave my model glue and pliers?"

she replies,
"They're in the hobby drawer next to the dildos and lube".
LMAO.

Does putting a spin on it help people think of it softer?
Absolve some subconscious guilt or something?
After all, it's only a "hobby".

I am going to put this out there but I think the way your post is worded is, Extremely Demeaning to both the ladies and gentlemen of this board.

In other words wow your one classy dude/lady whatever you are

the Dr. says putting a spin on it doesn't help people think softer but he know what does

Whats wrong with calling a spade a spade? Do you ever call yourself a pothead?

In my house
Well, some of us call it a hobby. Others call it a release. Others maybe a lifestyle. Others call themselves providers. Not sure what the point is to judge folks who use certain terms to describe their interest in this area.
The more important point is to DrSean. Who is that hottie in the pics??

they want to sanatize everything,
make it politically correct,

were not doing what were doing if its a hobby,
a service provider is not, a hooker if she is an sp,.

im not a john any more im a client.
its not a date its a session.

i got in so much shit once from a high class girl
or she thought i was a high class girl

because i had the word pussy in my email addy,
she sent me like a long letter lectureing me,

on how crude and revolting i was. for even saying things like pussy and escort and such,

she had a blog, and she wrote a long blog,
on who all those words were demeaning,
and abusive, sp escort hooker john, date, pussy, etc etc,
even courtesean, she didn't even like,

i would have liked to have seen her and fucked her, and asked her what we just did.
and did i pay her or not for the right to fuck her.
and what is the definition of that then

If it isn't a hobby then what exactly is it?

It is certainly a form of entertainment, like watching a movie or going to a hockey game.

It can also be a form of 'therapy' if you get a massage from a naked RMT who just happens to ride you at the end (for that extra bit of relaxation).

But often hobbies are a form of therapy as they allow you to de-stress and relax (sounds like pooning, doesn't it?)

Now, a hobby is something that you do more than once in your life or once every few years, for the casual pooner who can count how many sessions he's had, I'd say that it's just 'entertainment'.

But, for a guy like hatrick? It's somewhere between "hobby" and "addiction" :)

So, I guess calling it a "Hobby" will do until something better comes along?

I see nothing in my post that is 'demeaning'.

But now I must - LOL - I mock-with-more-light-serious-humour:
Ooooh I used the F word?
Would it be 'non-demeaning' if I had written,
"sex with SP's"?
-or should I be more soft and politically correct
and (mocking) say, "make love"???

Good Dr., there's always one in the crowd,
isn't there?
Don't tell the leopard hiding among the tigers that he has spots.
Or that's simply the limitations of text. I write in in one thought context, someone else reads it another way?

Further. If you have the slightest familiarity
with George Carlin's humour, for example,
as referenced originally,
you KNOW exactly what I mean.

Can't you just hear that bit of humour-script I wrote
verbally performed? Not because it's mine, it's just plain funny.

Personally, I don't consider golf or skiing 'hobbies'.
But calling sex-with-anything a 'hobby',
is like calling chess a sport.
(Laughably, there are people that do).

Between the legs of a HOT SP!!
Of course it is a hobby......for me.

hob.by1   /ˈhɒbi/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [hob-ee] Show IPA Pronunciation

–noun, plural -bies.

1. an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation: Her hobbies include stamp-collecting and woodcarving.

Why would you not consider this a hobby? I do it because I enjoy sex and I find it relaxing when I am done........seems to fit the criteria.

"A hobby is a spare-time recreational pursuit."

"Hobbies are practiced for interest and enjoyment, rather than financial reward. Examples include collecting, creative and artistic pursuits, making, tinkering, sports and adult education. Engaging in a hobby can lead to acquiring substantial skill, knowledge, and experience. However, personal fulfillment is the aim."

I dunno - I think a really good argument can be made that pooning is, in fact, a hobby.
