Is there an influx of spanish women?

Why are there so many ads that say "Spanish" or say "Spanish and Native".
Since when were we the stopping spot for the Spanish immigrants?
Twenty years ago was there some type of spanish festival going on here that was in the north end?
One that involved a lot of partying and swapping of partners?

I doubt many of them are Spanish (from Spain). A lot of people apply that tag to those that speak Spanish but in realtiy they are those with origins in countries of Spanish speaking Latin America aka Hispanics or Latinos (same as Hispanics but also includes Potuguese speaking Brazilians).
The other reason is there are still many aboriginal or metis ladies who avoid advertising their true ethnicity and say they are Spanish. Personally, being partially of Ojibway heritage I find this silly but growing up looking as white as anyone else, I never experienced the racism some have.

Thanks Jethro. I figured that, but honesty should win out, and nobody should be embarrassed about their heritage as we had no decision in picking it did we?
I have seen that racism run both ways, from both sides.
