Could you please let me know what was the crime he committed? I just want not to commit that myself!!!!!!! Is it because a "hotel" (aka public place) was involved? Like was it OK if it was a house?

I remember reading somewhere that text messages are deemed a private conversation. Police need a wiretap warrant in order to view them.

Text messages and emails are considered private conversation. DON'T use your work email.

If police are making an arrest they don't need a warrant for a phone unless it is password protected. Very good idea to always have a password on your phone
