I had set up an internet connection at home, not wireless with girlfriend. She knew the IP address
and my password I have since given her the boot. Here is the Question as I was logging off the other
night a banner came up that said there was someone else logged on my pc.and they would lose connection if I logged off. Is it possible for her to be on my computer from some where else and me not know it.

Really depends on how tech savvy she was. Most likely she wasn't spying. That warning will appear if another user is logged into your computer as a completely separate user (ie..completely different desktop, etc..) or if a remote desktop connection was established (still unable to see your screen unless you allowed remote assistance to be turned on)...if she was logged in/using something like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC, etc...you wouldn't have gotten a warning (they would just get disconnected).

So, the main possibility is that you had another user logged in separately on your PC (ie...if you have media streaming hardware or something that needs log in rights to you pc)

First question before a shoulder check; are there any other devices in your home that connect to the Internet? If so and you are sharing ANYTHING on your computer, then a message like "There are other users connected to this ....." If that is the message, then another device has connected to the SHARE and shutting down will disconnect them. A SHARE example could be a printer, shared folder, shared Internet Connection .....

If still concerned check what programs are installed.
Something like GoToMy PC, or Logmein?
Look for processes running like g2ax... lm..
