Is March one of the worst months?

This was the talk around the water cooler today.

We had way back when the assassination of Julias Caesar in March, more recently we have the Malaysian Airlines tragedy, and several years ago we had the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami. Seems like September isn't a good month for some as well. Thoughts?

March and September are transitional months. We go from Winter to Spring and Summer to Autumn so there is the tendency for more extreme weather due to the significant change between those seasons(more so in the former). As for any historical events, it may just be a coincidence however maybe a study or studies have been done on such things. Wouldn't be surprised as they seem to have a study for everything these days.

There's a theory that the Ides of March may not have been such a bad thing for good ol' Julius Caesar. Basically the theory goes that Caesar suffered from epilepsy (there's a decent amount of evidence for this part), and was starting to lose control of his body to the point that he was having trouble keeping up appearances as a powerful man, and that he arranged for his own assassination to avoid the shame of slowly becoming too weak and ineffectual to rule (there's significantly less evidence for this part). Of course, there's no way to ever prove this theory, but it's an interesting take on what may have actually happened.
