Do you equate the fuck up of a young staffer from the speaker of the house in Canada with the largest backer of the American President who happens to be the wealthiest man on the planet speaking at event reported worldwide ?
How would you rate on a scale 1 to 10 the two events in terms of world eye catching story ?

Nothing is fuck up, when it happens at that level, but you might say it to save the face, if you are liberal.
Anyways coming to your point, why are we so obsessed on a man in US if he is nazi or not. If you believe he is then stop using his products or participate in any of his business, end of the story.
But its not the case because its very spicy to politicise this gesture, and as he is Trump's ally, amplify it more to feel good, because liberals/democrat supporters cant do anything else about it.
Trump and Elon is doing what is best for his country and we should also do whats best for us. Think about us, how can we deal effectively with changes happening in America, rather than repeating and focusing energy on these bogus issues.

Elon has huge amounts of money and therefore influence in American politics. Until proven otherwise he owns Trump. He may not officially be a politician and represent the US but almost everyone I know now see him as an evil manipulator pushing the world towards his weird, weird views. Okay, keep on defending him, you have established your record on this board. Period.
I am not a US American, but can trace my heritage in the US back further than most US Americans (First half of 1600s).
My opinion does not matter frankly.
I do like some of the measures Trump is taking, especially with regards to Government efficiency.
Other measures (most) are just ridiculous.
Honestly we here in Canada can do with some Government efficiency measures.
You just calling anyone who disagrees with your position as being liberal, gives away who you are, what you stand for, and removes all integrity you may have.
EDIT: People who call Elon a Nazi, have every right to be concerned given his recent actions, and demonstrations of his beliefs. With that being said, I agree that some of the rhetoric goes a hair length too far, but so do the arguments from the other side.

Debate all we want if he is or isn't a Nazi, and if it was a Nazi salute or he was waving at a passing Tesla driver. It doesn’t matter what we think.

Variety of things - don't buy a Tesla, don't allow your government to subsidize Tesla manufacture, don't take a job from him if he offers, make Tesla obey road safety rules, etc... The list is endless on how to combat guys like Elon, Bezos, etc. A little bit of imagination goes a long ways to creating disruption. Please don't now tell me you are powerless. Somehow you felt supporting Musk could have value but there is nothing we can do to oppose him. BS.
Well I am already doing all of above, Dont have Tesla, not a X user, dont have Tesla stocks, has no business with his any of companies. But I dont enjoy gossipping which we are doing here.

You ask why are we so obsessed about what those guys do .. well in my case I grew up with a relative born in 1930 who was in Germany and had to take arm and fight for a cause he didn't believe in , who always told us how horrible war was , how evil the system was , how insidious the Nazi leaders were into pushing the boundaries of acceptability. Take a few books or watching proper documentaries about the rise of the nazi party .
What was not acceptable yesterday is now being defended by a few people among our circles of friends and celebrated by the neo Nazi groups. If Musk would have explained himself and apologized it would not have reached the proportions that it did . Keep in mind that those nazi salutes that he did comes from a guy that twitted in the past Holocaust denial comments but instead of apologizing he visited Auschwitz and erased the comments and his sharing of comments about the subject.
If the vast majority of his supporters that you are part of ...would have said that Musk should clarify his position and had apologized for his actions , it would be water the bridge by now if really felt .
Some of us old enough who grew up like me back east in Quebec with a bigger jewish community , with neighbours from the said community...you get to interact with them , see tattoos on their forearms , get to hear stories about people they lost or other stories while going to do choirs to help them out or doing small jobs . So some of us who have read about the Holocaust , learned and experienced those interactions a few decades after the fact have a different perspective and are ready to do what is required to crush any attempt to normalize or allow that ideology to take hold in society. Perspective my friend perspective
Oh by the way . I have never in 40 years of voting ever voted Liberal or NDP for that matter....so do not assume my political position in those matter . And I for one after reading a previous comment you made do not question your integrity only your position on certain matters and policies to understand the rational behind it .

I will have to agree with you on this one..
There are positive and negative arguments from both sides on this, even though most people select a "SIDE".
The issues are much more complex than anything stated in the arguments posted here.
I understand this issue is close to your heart, and would also agree that we should have asked him to apologise regardless of if he intended to make that salute or not.
I understand you are not responsible for everyone else what they post, but look around on other posts on this same board, do you think they are coming out of concerns for feeling of survivors or their family members? They are making fun of it, making memes having joy that Elon made it and now they have chance to shit on Elon Trump, his supporters and play politics.
I responded to every post on this board with integrity as it is important for me, but dont accept question on it, for my differing opinion. If someone writes sensible I resiprocate and dont go too low for sake of just writing on low level posts.
I appreciate that you acknowledge that an explanation and apology could have or could help the situation ....as well as have muffled the far right neo nazi groups instead of giving them a platform to expand their ideas thinking they have the support from the top of the political forces.
Also true that everybody's emotions get the better of us as we write a reply in here on a whim .
