They probably just thought you were stupid.
Like when you see someone at the gas station, yelling at the 17 year old cashier, about the price of gas.
Or a clown at the casino swearing at the dealer for hitting 21.

I have had a few occassions when I have told the person "This is no directed at you, as I know you are not part of the decision making process. This is directed at your company." And then I lash into them with my tirade.

Having worked in restaurants for many years a long time ago lol I don't feel sorry..... because I have no reason to. I don't have reason to because it would take someone being excessively rude and insulting to me first for me to resort to saying something or acting in a way that would require me to feel sorry.

Since that rarely happens, if it's ever happened at all (I can't remember) and I'm able to communicate my frustration or disappointment when a mistake happens, without saying or behaving in a way I should feel sorry about - I don't feel sorry. :p

Nothing quite like seeing an adult have a tantrum over getting the wrong dressing for their salad. Really.

I also don't want to give anyone any excuse to spit in my food. Not sure why anyone would want to take that chance. ugh. LOL :pound:
(no, I've never spit in someone's food or seen anyone else do it, but that's still not a chance I'm willing to take!)

A few weeks ago I was on my way to catching an early flight and told the clerk at the front desk about three deficiencies in my room. I got very passive acknowledgement about the room problems. I stood back and asked her specifically " do you hear and understand what I am telling you?" Her face reddened very quickly.

I had paid for an upgrade to the room and basically felt ripped off since their standard rooms are usually excellent. I did shoot the messenger in this circumstance and felt bad while on my flight.

I did get about a third of the cost of the room refunded without any further hassle.

I don't think you did anything wrong or "shoot the messenger"..? Well, not from what you wrote in you post. I don't think there's anything wrong about giving feedback, even if it's negative.. I think the issue is when people get really irate, rude. I must say though, when checking-out is kind of a bit late to be bringing it up and doesn't give them much of a chance to fix things.

If people complained about their food after eating all of it, mostly it was just too bad for them. I wouldn't say it but I'd wonder why would they eat it and then complain. I'd still hear them out but at that point there isn't much I can do. If they say something after they've had a bite or two, it's much easier for me to get something else they'll be happy with. I figure it's probably much the same for a hotel room. Oh well. It's good that she offered to refund part of what you paid.

I lash out when people are overpaid and give shit service...like SP's. People working front desk at most hotels make $13 to 20 an hr...so keep that in mind. If someone is getting paid shit, I don't expect much. And yes, 13 to 20 an hour is shit and we all know it!

The only place I can recall lashing out in the last 5 years is at a car dealership for a complete rip off job and to those useless morons working in banks pushing crappy mutual funds my way...

i have ofton asked my sp to forgive me,
i pay her for sex, and we do have sex,
but for the most part im not concerned if she wants to or what goes on in her life, or if this is right for her,

i only care that she gets me off at some point in a session, i try to be sensitive and caring,
but at the end of the day, i only want to get off, and i am just concerned with my own very selfish needs.
so i have ofton asked her to forgive me,

I checked in around Six PM and notified them of the three deficiencies by Seven PM. Nothing was offered at the time such as another room nor a discount. So when I checked out I was ensuring they were aware of the reported problems. When I got the eyes down at her keyboard going "uhuh uhuh" I stood back so all could hear me and asked her specifically if she understood what I was saying and what needed to be done to fix the situation. She did get it at that point. FYI, I have stayed at this four star hotel chain numerous times in Canada and the USA and 99% of the time provide them with excellent feedback. This was the 1% time for them.

Whenever I buy any big ticket item that involves delivery, I get the sales rep to agree to a penalty should they not live up to their end to the deal. I recently bought a new front loader and got the sales rep to write on the receipt that I would get a $25 gift certificate if they were not on time. They were 10 minutes early.

I purchased a new truck a couple years ago which the dealership ordered from the factory. We agreed on a delivery date and I got the sales rep to agree to free undercoating if the truck didn't arrive on the date promised.

I never heard anything from the dealership so I gave them a call with 4 days to go until my delivery date. They said they were having problems and unfortunately my truck would be late. I said no problem, I would rather have the free undercoating anyway. The guy that I was speaking to was confused and was obviously unaware of the penalty. I advised him to check the contact and get back to me.

I got a call back in about 30 minutes with the great news that my truck would be delivered on the date promised.

If the sales rep refuses to agree to a penalty for non performance, go somewhere else.

Got it. If they were aware of it and didn't do anything at the time, then totally different. I wasn't sure if you only told them when you were checking out. :thumb:
