ipods?

excuse my ignorance, but if I go out and buy a ipod on boxing day can I load all the music I already have on my computer on to it.
What kind of files do they use? Do I have to buy all the songs?

I have seen that some other mp3 players, like the creative or iriver ones use just about any kind of music files.

Yes you can load your exist. music on it. Make sure your exist. music is in mp3 or WMA format. Ipods appear to have lots of battery issues. Apple will soak you good for a new battery as it is not user replaceable like some of the other brands.

get it at best buy and get the performance service plan with it. i think its like 89 bucks for four years and that covers the battery issues. my buddy got one and both of thier geek squad guys that can replace the battery were not working so best buy just gave him a new one.
