Went for a massage today and the massage therapist told me she had the iphone4 for about a week from fido. During that time the reception keeps on breaking. Told her to get a plastic case for it. I thought they had the problem fixed by now...not just a plastic crappy case

Well they will sell off the "broken" ones as is. Presumably there is a hardware fix in the works for newly-built ones, but they aren't likely to recall the broken ones that have already been made, or which are in the process of being made. A hardware fix will be designed and implemented at some point in the future, either with or without fanfare, and those with the current model will just have to live with it.

Its a beautiful phone with the metal antenna around it, what a shame to cover it with a shitty plastic bumper. Ruins the aesthetics of the phone.

I was skeptical too... I have the 4 and it works fine. I have a great clear case, thin that covers the back and edges. It very slightly raised along the edge, even if it's face down, it's protected too. Once you have a 4, it's tough to go back to a Berry for everyday use.

I got an iphone a couple of months ago (for my personal phone), and bought a thick rubber casing for it, to protect it in case I drop it (and so it doesn't slide off surfaces).

So far it's been great. I haven't noticed any shitty reception. This being said - I text a lot, as opposed to talking.
It is a great looking phone... and fun.
weren't you the one that was sold on the galaxy?

I am a long-time BB user and I DESPERATELY wanted a Torch, I was salivating when they came out. But the low screen resolution and slow processor killed it for me. I wish to hell that RIM had put a 1GB chip in there, and upped the resolution at least a little bit, as it would then have been the perfect phone (for me). In the end of my own research, I opted for the I4. Its an amazing tool. The antenna issue, as stupid and head-scratching as it is, has a negligible impact, is not worth worrying about.

I find the Androids to be wonderful smartphones, of course, but across the board they are simply second-class iPhones, wannabes. They are amazing - if you have one you have an outstanding phone. But they aren't quite as good as the I4.

Bottom line is that whatever you have, iPhone, Torch or Android, you have an amazing tool at your fingertips.

Autocorrect is driving me CRAZY with the iphone4!!! :(

That's definitely a design flaw. They made it way too sensitive. I wonder if there is any way to turn it off? My spelling usually isn't so bad that I would need it ;)
Settings/General/Keyboard/Auto-correction to "off"

The OS 6 is slick from what I heard. Just reading an article online indicating that BB browser just edged past safari for the first time for mobile browsing.

I played with the Galaxy S phone and the Tab the other day... Android OS has amazing potential for the future but you can't beat the Apple OS, App and sheer ease of use for the everyday user. Right now you have to be more patient and slightly tech(ier) savvy ;) to use Android.

Been reading reviews on The Samsung Focus (Windows Phone 7)and they are all really good...

If ONLY Apple would replace ITunes with something more intuitive and her friendly..... Even so, I4 still best out there for now.

****** Are there any recommendations for a good Criagslist viewer app??

I tried i4 in the Apple store, I hated the online keypad. So I opted for a Motorola Milestone, which has both online keypad and the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, not to mention the Android OS. There are some painful quirks, but overall I like it! I don't really ask a lot from a smartphone - all I really need is the phone, texting, email, tip calculator, music, and web access. The web access is especially useful for pooning, especially at work or in another city.

What does the Milestone recommend for tipping an SP after a 45-minute GFE session with pussy slide and covered MPOS? Are there different tips suggested for Asian SPs versus whites? ;-)

I have a personal Blackberry and a work iPhone. I find the iPhone superior in every sense except for typing text messages (big fingers). Surfing & the app selection on iPhone are awesome compared to blackberry and I find BB's are lousy quality.

The solution is easy. Buy an iPad ;-). THEY are awesome.
Email delivery and management is better on the Blackberry. As a business device Blackberry can't be touched.
