Iodine & mineral preventatives for STDs ?

Could we get some input from the Health Nurse? Might clear things up and put this to rest before any of us decide to start dipping our dicks into buckets of mineral oil, or buckets of iodine. Actually, that said- would topical application of mineral oil/iodine to the penis be detrimental in any way?
Seriously??!! Don't you think that if any of that stuff were effective in any way it would be known by now? I don't need validation by the HN, thx....
I don't, but I figured that there are those out there who actually would try crazy stuff like this. For every person that thinks "Well, this obviously isn't a stellar idea-" there's another that goes "Hmm, I think sticking my genitalia into this potentially harmful vat of acid might make me look longer."
After unprotected dick action I have often washed mine with peroxide.
It doesn't seem to do any harm. I also try to pee, though i suppose
cuming would have the same effect {although i usually try to avoid
the latter} of cleaning out the system.
I wonder what the HN would think of colloidal silver, which i buy from
a local natural products/alternative medicine business {Finlandia on
Broadway}. I used CS for infections with swelling and found it to be
as effective as antibiotics. It may take a bit longer to work, but may
also cum w/o the nauseating side effects. It has saved me wasting
time sitting at a noisy doctor's office, clinic or hospital emergency.
