Who is your internet provider?

Shaw? Telus? Other?

Used to be on Shaw, switched over to Novus when I moved downtown. It's pretty sweet.

But when my current mobile phone contract expires, I'm switching to one of the new mobile service providers (either Wind or Mobilicity) and I may pick up one of their mobile internet data sticks and drop the wired service.

Im using wind mobile stick which is 20.00 a month for life. Not the worlds fastest internet but you can carry the internet anywhere if u have a laptop.

I heard a similiar story but it was shaw who had no service in a certain area.

I use shaw for landline cable and internet. I never watch tv though just hockey and news sometimes. I will never use telus again for internet or phone. When I moved from mainland to island to my beautiful little rented home in Lantzville on the ocean (I had to aadd that as I miss that home) I called up telus to have internet and phone line hooked up. My god you know what they said...it would take 4-6 weeks! as there is no service where I was and they would have to have a crew come out and set up the lines. Seriously that is the craziest thing I have heard especially with todays technology. So long story short to hell with them I called up Shaw and was all set to go in just 2 days.

I didnt know this stuf happens till i signed up for wind mobile for two months. They have no reception at sfu campus and some parts of town with wind mobile. Apparently you have to apply for govt approval and permission to add towers to certain areas to be build. Guess this stuff happens more often than we all knew about

I think it is rather odd this was early 2008 I moved back to island. You would think different as if you go up the road from where I live a 2 minute drive you are officially in Nanaimo. Crazy I tell you.

I am with shaw and am quite happy.....when I got my first computer I went with telus and every night at 9:30 my internet would kick out....you could set your watch by it...had them over twice to fix it....same problem so I said "fuck em" and went with shaw....1 outage since and that outage covered a very wide area so no complaints really.

Telus turbo. Speed test shows 12.83 down and .84 up.

The speed never varies cause it's a dedicated line unlike Shaw where the portal is shared. High traffic times means lower speeds.

I'm on Novus. 20 down and 10 up ! Thats their standard package!
